Basically they're in the same price grid I'm looking at
One is a 2001/2002 Lexus IS300
The other is a 2006 Nissan Sentra SE-R SpecV
Any input?

01 IS is automatic only. 02 has a manual option. The IS is super reliable, the only issues are the CD player might eat a CD. It is a FUN FUN RWD car, tight E36 BMW dimensions. The leather/escaine seats are grippy and we both know there are TONS of mods for this car. HIDs are standard and most have the sunroof.
The SE-R is nice but to me they are trying to add things to make it more fun. Remember its a FWD econo car at heard. The last SE-Rs worth something were the 1992 or so models. The IS has that from the start. RWD and I-6 combo.
Not sure about MPG for the SE-R but the IS 300 isn't great, around 18-23 or so...
GOod luck

I say the sentra..
I have never liked the IS300, plus in stock form they are slow
stock for stock the sentra would beat the IS all day long

IS300 by a LONGGG shot, having driven both, the SE-R wasn't even fun. The IS looks good, is RWD, has great aftermarket options (as does the SE-R) but the IS is just a better car overall. I really think you would be much happier with the IS.

Well, this is going to be a daily driver - I know the SE-R wins because it gets 23 city/30 highway
But then again its a Lexus. Which is nice

I drive a 92 ser, but if I had to choose between them, I would pick the IS300 no questions asked.

if they really are about the same price then get the IS300
its a get a reliable motor and you will find maintenance on that one easy.
