i was cleaning my car the other day and realized i never really payed any attention to my vin plate and took a look. and noticed that on it nowhere does it say ef but mine says ed. so i guess to get on about my question.

why is it we in the states call it an ef if it is in fact an ed?

maybe this is a dumb question and maybe it has been answered somewhere on here before but i havent read it so thought id ask.

you are correct, its an ED. I have no idea why people say its an Ef though...

We actually all, in fact, have EF's imported from Japan. well...the OG's, anyways. We didn't want anyone eyein' our piece like 50cent, so we took ED tags from salvage yards and put them on our cars. We also took out the Si motors, tranny, brakes, switched them to LHD, and we all, as drivers, stopped flashing the "peace" sign.
