My girlfriend's uncle is selling me a Jennings 9mm for $50.
I have read online that they are pretty low budget, crappy guns, and sometimes dangerous.
Being that it's only $50, I'm going to buy it and make the best of it that I can. This will be my first pistol, so it's only going to be used for target practice. Later, I will upgrade to a better brand of firearm, which I will be asking you guys about when I decide on what it may be.
Although, this will be my first pistol, I am pretty knowledgeable of guns and ammunition. I have done tons of research online and read magazines.
Have any of you had any experience with Jennings firearms?
All comments are greatly appreciated.
Thanks a lot!
Allen

For $50 it might be worth a try, because you will probably end up trashing it anyways. I got one a few years ago for pretty cheap too and it's still BNIB. LOL. Obviously this is not something you'd want to carry, but you should be okay at the range. Although, I've actually read about ranges not allowing these POS's. Just shoot it until it dies and then get a real gun. Unless it blows up in your face, you're not really getting a bad deal since one days ammo costs more than the gun. If I ever end up shooting mine, I'll let you know.

I agree, but I have family and friends who have land that they shoot on that I'm welcome to.
I just hope everything goes okay with it. I may wear a glove to prevent burns or shrapnel lol.

If I had land I'd just attach it to a vice grip and put a long string on the trigger. Haha. Good luck Allen!!!

The main reason for folks having problem with these pistols is lack of maintenance and proper inspection. I have owned one in the past and it was a fun little gun. Shoot cheap ammo and have fun plinking. Do a thorough inspection of all internals first, shoot a couple of snap caps through it and then take her to the range.

Haha! Unfortunately, I haven't had the chance to fire it, yet.

I hope I don't have that issue. I'm expecting it, none the least.

I didn't have much trouble with assembling it. The only difficult part was the magazine release's spring. The left grip actually holds it in place...retarded design if you ask me.

Well, if it isn't worth a shit, I'll sell it to DamnisLaOsBoY for $50, and I'll buy us all some beer and steaks!
:goodjob:
Thanks for all of the input, guys.

EYE PROTECTION.....wear it. Like maybe a fucking welders mask so you don't go blind if that bitch has a catastrophic failure. Make sure you read up on the proper ways to clear all the different kinds of jams and failures before you shoot it. Happy shooting.

I will for sure wear a pair. I actually have one of those things similar to what doctors wear when they are giving surgery. Not sure what it's called, but it's plastic and covers my entire face. Oh, gloves! I'll be wearing gloves, too.
