I tried looking up SC6265 on Precision's website, and I couldn't find it. What are the specs of your new turbo?

Thanks for the link. Yes, it appears you are correct. He has the .82 A/R T3 turbine housing. Also, with it being a 65mm turbine wheel, I believe it is a P-trim turbine wheel. It is a good thing he got the .82 A/R T3 housing, this is a good match for the high flowing P-trim exhaust wheel. That housing will make it a bit more laggy, but will definitely help in the upper RPMs.

Nice, just got one of the 58 and 62mm billet turbos for a customers...they are very nice.

Yeah, Precision turbos are nice. Personally, there are several other brands I would choose first, but Precision does have a few things going for them. One being they are generally priced cheaper than most other turbo companies, and two is at least they use Garrett wheels in their turbos. I used to run a Precision GT3076R, and it did very well for me.

On a side note, I am curious to see how this turbo does for Vancem3m3. Being it is on a 2.0L and the turbo is large and journal bearing, I wonder what the spool time will be like. What is the compression of the built engine?

Their new billet wheel turbos have been working very well for people. I've got a friend with the 6062 and it makes great power and spools really nice.

Yes, I would have to agree with you. Billet wheel technology is a great tool for the turbocharged world. Even some older Holset turbos used the billet wheels and it worked out very well for them as well. Billet wheels are great, but they are inferior to turbo technology such as Bullseye's ETT, Forced Performance's HTA turbos, or Turbonetics/Comp/Innovative's new ceramic BB CHRA. Ceramic CHRA and HTA has to do with the center-section, not the wheels, but hey, we are talking about turbo technology... not wheels vs. CHRAs. Right? :D

Anyhow, you are right though. Precision made a good choice by switching to the billet wheel technology. :goodjob: Also, a 6062 is a nicely balanced turbo, when it comes to the wheel sizes matching close to each other. What engine was it put on?

Well, billet has to do with the design and material of the compressor wheel. It is a lighter material so it can spin more easily, yet it is stronger than the old style Garrett wheels. I believe the design of the new billet wheels are designed differently as well, to help with airflow. Ceramic BB just means that the BB center-section is coated with a special coating to help GREATLY reduce heat. That is why you see BB turbos that have this technology being oil-cooled only. The water-cooling is not necessary because they have the ceramic BB center-section. So to answer your question, they are both good and you can't really compare them because they are two different things.
