Love it! Goes to show that the highest sub-compact safety rating still isn't a match for physics (http://www.autoblog.com/2009/04/14/iihs-finds-sub-compacts-fair-poorly-again/). The 8th gen looks like a tank in that picture.

Check out the picture of the Camry vs. Yaris too. Could you imagine getting blasted by an SUV or a truck?

did people honestly think a car that size, with little reinforcement and material to it, was really safe? Especially against a truck or suv, dont need to be told shoulda be kinda obvious, or atleast to me.

Thats why I think they should sell Smart cars with million dollar life insurance policies.

They should test the Accord against the Camry to settle who is really the better family sedan!!!!!!!!

smart car was in that test too. they put it up against a C-class
to quote gearlog.com
"Worse, the Smart fortwo actually went airborne and turned 450 degrees--more than one full rotation--after hitting the other car (a Mercedes C-Class, itself no giant) in the test. The tests consisted of 40 mph head-on crashes between the fortwo and a 2009 Mercedes C-Class, the Fit and a 2009 Honda Accord, and the Yaris and the 2009 Toyota Camry--rare but possibly representative scenarios of real life crashes between two vehicles of different sizes."

looks like a no brainer. the Accord and Camry ARE indeed BIGGER cars?

now if i were to choose between the Fit and Yaris judging by these pictures id choose the Fit. the Yaris just looks like EVERYONE died.

Gas mileage FTW!

i'd like to see the pics from the other side... this doesnt look like a direct head on collision - i'm sure from the viewpoint of the other side it would tell a different story....

Oh really? Accord>Fit? Well no shit!
Lets try Avalon vs Civic. Wow the Avalon won. who would thunk it

Whats the point of this? They're in two different price ranges to begin with!

^you but you cant always chose who is going to hit you...just a little eye opener for those of us on here that have small cars....dont be a dick!

C'mon that should be a no-brainer. If you drive a civic, and that soccer mom in her expedition decides to t-bone you because her son is late for soccer practice, guess what - you're DEAD.

One of my friends died like this... Expedition 1 Civic 0.

Those monster ass SUVs should be banned! Ok I guess I should stop before I go ranting about em.

^yeah who knew man!

I knew...

I was just looking out for you! Better to know then think because they get good crash ratings that the cars are ok...

yeah...my dad got nailed in my first EF on a head-on with a lifted Jeep. Its no fun, but life is full of risks and chances, you can't live without them... :dunno:
