i have 205/45/16 with 45psi if i got something with a bigger sidewall like a 50 series, would this help from wheel hopping or should i lower the tire pressure on the tires i got now?

is 45psi whats written on the tire to be the correct pressure? usually the lower the profile the higher the PSI

try it with 35 psi, that should be the rec. pressure for that tire.

50 psi is the max psi what it says on the 205/45/15 nitto neo-gen tires, but i have 45psi in them right now and it tends to wheel hop everytime, now my question is if i lower the psi to 25-30 would that help it from wheel hopping:thinking:

im not that educated with wheel hop, but i'd say yes it'd help, but a balance may help also. and think about a stabilizer

i had the same tires on 16's at 32-35 psi and never had that problem. i say just lower the psi a bit.

i would start with raising the car a lil. ive worked on a few cars that would do that on launch. wheel hop then break an axle. raised them up a 1/2 -1 in all problems stopped. my hatch used to do it also.

lower the psi in the front...
And how soft is your spring setup in the back?

my car used to wheel hop when the tires broke loose in 1st. when i installed my new wheels/tires, james and i adjusted the toe and it hasn't wheel hopped once. i have a traction-bar to install, but haven't gotten around to doing it yet, but at this point i think the toe was the problem.
check the alignment and toe.

the rear is stiff as shit almost no movement they are drag coilovers from omni power

Deff lower the psi, never inflate them to wut the sidewall says, that MAX psi not rec psi.
and raise the front some

High tire pressure = bouncy tire = high wheel hop.
I dont know anything about your car so take this with a pinch of salt:
Lower it by 20psi for drag launches and you'll see a big change IMO

thanks guys. my car is not slammed like other hondas i keep it about 1 inch of wheel gap in the front and 1.5 wheel gap in the rear.....to me why slamm it when you have nice stuff you worked hard to get and then fuck it up on speed bumps...etc....its just another honda trend that you have to do.....

Yea, Long doesn't really have is car stoopid low. I'm willing to bet that its a combo of the tire pressure being too high, and that toe issue. With your added weight in the front, make sure your not getting any coil bind, but like I said, I don't think your car is even low enough for that issue.

sup J, yea i bet its just the tire pressure like what atlblkx06 said, "High tire pressure = bouncy tire = high wheel hop."
my first time having something smaller than a 50 series tire, i got an allignment already after i just installed my camber kits, so camber, caster, toe is perfect.....so let me try lowering the PSI on it

If that doesnt help your problem you may wanna check into you axles..ive heard of H2B's not properly being installed and binding axles..just a suggestion though

Dude first off your tire pressure is way too high. Lower it to about 30-33 psi. Then get your camber and toe adjusted. Then get you some prothane motor mount inserts. The inserts will take care of 95% of the wheel hop. Not gonna lie and try to explain exactly why but it just does. Ask anyone who has them. Only downside is you will feel some engine vibration in your steering wheel but it is better than breaking axles.

I didn't know if the website posted my last reply cause I had to go back cause the screen was froze after I hit the submit reply button.

i have stiff hasport mounts already engine doesnt move and i already have vibration throughout the car, so lower the pressure to 30-33psi and than go get another allignment? this is a daily drvier so i would rather do an alignment on the regular tire pressure for everyday driving intead of aligning it to the track only...

There's a really easy and simple cure to wheel hop, it doesn't even cost a dime...
Stop spinning the tires. I promise you'll take tenths off your 60' time.
