Why get another rb25? How much is the difference in hp from the rb26? I would think you would get that instead

It's only costing me $500 where as a 26 swap would run me in the hole hard core. Plus my goal is to be a beastly GTS killing GTR's :D

Why in the hell did you pull the head just to pull the motor? Seems like an awful waste of time.

I was unsure of the approach I wanted to take about the low compression at first and then I found a replacement motor so I ripped the rest out

I'll tell you, any time you're wanting to do anything that might involve taking the motor apart its easier to just yank it. Nothing is easy to do with it still in the car. And when you put everything back together do yourself a favor and use proper metal exhaust/intake gaskets and throw those sintered metal POS's away.

New motor is in, took a little longer then I thought with the motor mounts and it got really cold tonight so I bolted it down and will finish the rest tomorrow. I'm shooting to have the majority of it done by noon give or take between work hours.

Nice, but I found a couple things funny.

Like CCR mentioned, why not just pull the motor to begin with? You said you were replacing the rings, which mean disassembly of the bottom end. So why not just pull the motor to begin with?

Secondly, why did you have to label the oil line for the turbo? Where else would you put that? Haha.

Anywho, props, looks good man.

I was not expecting to pull the entire motor and replace rings at first sight, I was attempting to see if the rings were stuck and needed to be freed up while I cleaned things up a bit.

I like to label everything. I wanted to make sure everything was labeled just incase it ended up taking a long time to do it or there was problems, I don't want to forget where things go.

Reps for having big balls and doing it in your driveway.......while using wheels as jack stands. Dont get much more bad ass than that.

lol thanks, I was kinda iffy at first about the wheels but then I got comfy with it and was all up under there.

Thanks, working on the tuning right now. Power FC is pretty confusing and got some fuel issues. My injectors are pretty much just pouring fuel into the motor non stop, I can see my gas gauge dropping as my fuel leaks out the exhaust.

Car is now sitting at National Speed in Wilmington NC, keep the fingers crossed.

Latest update,

Got a call today and they did some magic on the cylinder walls and a few other things, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R7BEGsZkkUs

Should have it on the dyno for some more troubleshooting and tuning tomorrow.

350 15psi stock internals and shitty charge pipes. Putting my HKS cams on and getting fatter intercooler pipes fabricated to increase the numbers safer before pushing over 20psi

Thanks, I tried to keep things barney style just incase I ran out of time and had to set the project aside for awhile. Been there done that and don't care to do it again, to many lost parts and messed up lines.
