only reason i really asked was cause on my old ass comp i used to be able to go through the search option of the computer to get the cookie folders and delete them, but i cant on vista. or atleast i tried and it wouldnt let me.

theres also a way i use to be able to go through windows explorer and get rid of everything that way too. because the way that you initially talk about doesnt work anymore on this computer. even afteri do that i'm not logged off of any of my forums like i use to be. any other avenues you know about?

You can go straight to the directories - if you go through tools/options and clear all history/cookies/passwords you will be logged out if you close out your browser. clearing history/cookies maynot necessarily log you out.

C:\Documents and Settings\Default User

C:\Documents and Settings\Default User\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files

C:\Documents and Settings\Default User\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles....
