$16-20k for a that car isn't bad if you think about it. An 09 civic si goes for a little bit more than that. Say both their values depreciate in the next 3-5 years, an si would still be ~9-10k? Throw another 6k in and you'll have a rare and mean looking civic that not a lot of other people will have.

I agree 100%.

But at the end of the day your in an $80,000 suped up fwd economy coupe synonimous with the term "ricer" that will almost certainly blend in with every other honda civic except for the .5% of the population who would distinguish the car as a mugen rr.

With as many honda lovers there are in this country, that civic will NEVER depreciate to 20k unless it's been totaled.

I think you just don't have sense and are taken easily by names.

For 80K, you are at the point where you could build a group N race civic.

But, that's you so i'm not one to judge.

If I had to drop $80,000 on a Honda...it'd have to be an NSX. The car's nice and all for its exclusivity, but honestly...it's still a Civic.

i fail to see how in any mindset, other than a delusional one, a civic of any kind is worth 80k.

i've never seen mediocrity so highly worshiped.

for 80k you can have this \/ and still have cash to spare.

http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p58/crossed1/bmw-m3-v8-right-front.jpg

After driving a Mugen Civic my view on a 30k Civic QUICKLY changed...

Is it really that good? I know the Civic is really fun to kick around and it's always willing to play no matter how hard you thrash it, but I still can't imagine how it could warrant an $80,000 tag, even with the 40 bhp bump and the rarity of only 300 being built. I could get an Audi RS4 Cabriolet for that much...only 300 of those in the US. Maybe I'm just missing the glow of enthusiasm around this car.

I can almost understand for the Experimental Spec Mugen RR...it looks wild with all the carbon fiber and aluminum, but I still can't figure how it'd fetch more than $40,000. Must take a real enthusiast/collector.

The Mugen Civic I drove really was fun, bone stock. It's not just a Civic with a body kit, there is some real crazy things on the car, it handeled really well and was a blast to drive, the power was not huge or anything, the motor is a stock K20 in those I think, but still that powerband is fun. I wouldn't buy one, because I would rather have something else for 30k, but I really think it's WORTH 30k.

Not true at all, and you know it.

Simon for 30k you could buy a hyundai gensis coupe brand new, that's RWD, comes with brembos, LSD, with either the 2l turbo or 305hp v6, and still have 4-6k left to mod the car with. Civics are great but there are better cars out there for THAT price to modify. Hell, if I could fit in one comfortably I'd buy a miata over a civic.

Is it a civic sedan, with a 4 banger....? Exactly....

The type of person I view that would buy this car would be a honda nutswinger and would buy this just to show it off to all the other honda lovers as how JDM he is. I mean you could easily get a used/new civic, buy coilovers and turbo it, and have a better handling/faster car than this mugen edition.

well what really makes any car worth 80k no matter the brand? Its all hype, name, etc. Im not saying this car is worth that because obviously it was sold for 40k new. this car has all the antics of a typical car that is 80k with the fancy interior, fancy rare oem body paneling and high tech suspension. Rare more powerful engine etc.

honestly, its a nice car, but the likely hood of getting one, almost non-existent. not saying i never would, but its damn near close to it.

I would MUCH rather have a Z06 with the upgraded leather interior package (so it doesn't feel so cheap). Anyone who sees this price as justified by a production run of 300 is RETARDEDLY attached and loyal to the Honda name. Hell, if I take my wrist watch and soak it in green paint, then let it dry and chip the paint off the front glass so you could still read the face, it would have a production run of 1. Is it rare? Yes. Did it's value go up? No. Granted, it wouldn't be marked as a piece of Wikipedia history under a google search of "Honda", but still, it really brings to light the idiocy of assigning value to an objective viewpoint known as "rarity". I really like the 1993 Competition Yellow Mica Mazda Rx-7 R1, they only made 350, but if I had $15k and found one for sale for $15k but found an Fd in the exact same condition, but in silver for $12k, I'd buy the silver one, rarity means nearly NOTHING to me, yeah the yellow FD is bad ass, rare, and happens to be my favorite color, but the rarity doesn't outweigh my ability to reason.

$80K price tag is derived from simple supply and demand.Only 300 are made, therefore people are willing to pay that much for them.. I love it personally and would buy it if I had that money to throw around.

I think Mugen should make another production run of a few hundred more in LHD.
