If you believe in your second amendment rights, i hope you are as outraged by this as i am.

this is the email i sent right after reading that:

"Dear Madam Speaker,
Having read your declared intention of instituting a national registration of firearms I thought it only fitting that we, the Constitution loving gun owners of America, should therefore declare our intent to fight you with any and every means possible. Firearms are our last defense against those who would RULE us as opposed to those who would govern at the will of the people. Your personal agenda is attempting to take our country off of the Constitutional path that allows you to govern in the first place. By your own actions you are attempting to negate the 2nd Amendment and all it stands for. This cannot and will not be allowed to happen. I have absolutely nothing more to lose than those Minutemen that stopped King George from attempting exactly what you and your political allies are contemplating today. Consider yourself warned of the potential consequences should you attempt to destroy the Constitution that our great country is founded on.

If people knew what it takes to get a controversial bill passed they wouldn't freak out over the small shit.

this isnt small shit. why do you thing its a HUGE deal with EVERY president or politician..... its comes up repeatedly and frequently.....

theres more to guns and owning them than just what you see on the surface - having/ owning a gun.

theres a quote that goes something like "One man with a gun can control 100 with none."

think about that for a second and then think about all of the crazy shit that has come upin the news/politics/life/current events recently....

Its a big deal with every election because its just that.. an election issue and nothing more, just like abortion.. its debated but when was the last time you saw a Federal Law passed about gun control or abortion? Off the top of my head the Brady Bill comes to mind and you know why that came to pass? Cause it was an actual assassination attempt on the president and even that took 12 years from the incident AND has now expired.

All bills you will see passed on gun control will come on the state level, not federal and even then nobody is coming into your home and taking your guns away. Like I said, there are bigger issues to deal with than something as meaningless as registering a gun.

registering guns leads to banning of guns... australia recently went thru this similar deal... they banned guns on a federal level.

And crime went though the fucking roof. I like the quote "if you outlaw guns, only outlaws will have guns" I will never give mine up. I doubt it will come to that. Obama is smart enough to realize it would cause mass chaos and revolt againts him.

in all honesty the 2nd amendment says nothing of having to register guns, go through background checks, be approved by the state as being mentally stable, etc etc. now i personally think it's a good thing that there are certain reasonable requirements (non-felon, mentally sane, etc) but more and more the gov't wants to put restrictions and make you jump through that many more hoops to be able to own a gun. it also doesn't help that the nra is slowly selling away the rights of every individual to be able to own a gun...

I'm not really big on any national organizations because after they reach a certain size, they simply become more politics than the actual cause they started with.

The second Amendment is written just like the rest of the Bill of Rights and the Constitution. They knew technology was going expand beyond anything they could even imagine and they worded the Constitution in a way that it could be adapted to those changes.
