What Holster?

I kinda got into it in my other thread, but i think a new topic will work better. i have a glock 29 i want to get a holster for. i prefer the holster to be on the outside of my pants not inside. something similar to a blackhawk holster will work fine. i heard the 30 and 29 are the same size, so i may go get one for a 30. anyone else have any suggestions?

I have been happy with comp-tac products, allthough i dont have an OWB holster. They are mid-line holsters. There are quite a few cusotm holster makers, but they are costly and have long lead times. Check these out for now.

You mentioned owning a blackhawk for the 23. I have a couple blackhawk serpas, they are ok, but they stick out too far from your body for concealed carry IMO.

they meet the function over form argument; however, like danny said all my serpas are just to far out.

I have all my holsters made from a guy in south carolina. He takes the gun and custom molds it, etc.. anywho.. I hope that you enjoy whichever one you get.

serpas are good. they are cheap and the retention seems pretty good. They are just too cheap for combat and too big for conceal. so that leaves you with open carry training only. IMO of course :D

its funny you say that. Thats are issue holster. Its a little different when you are wearing your bulky gear. we get issued the blackhawk drop legs for squad leader and above and the joe gets standard molle holsters. I bought my own comptac and zip tied the shit out of it to my gear. I enjoyed it much better and i didnt have the problems that the fobus and serpa guys had.

lol. i have just heard numerous complaints about the serpas in extreme conditions. Especialy when compared safariland issue holsters. :D

not even that. They look super tacti"cool" to the pog (people other than grunts) supply guys who buy it. Its actually up to the btn level unit to buy that stuff. Some fag who sits behind a desk orders stuff like that and we always bitch.

ahh not cool. count ur blessings. My buddies squad didnt even get an issue side arm. Convoy security and he got in a few firefights. Thats just BS to not have a issue sidearm imo.

Ditto. I used the same holster for a yr and half and switched to an inside holster and love it. I can wear a t-shirt and you can't even tell that i am armed. Carry a G23 forgot the name of the inside holster though.

I have a g23 and I have the fobus It works but I would like a inside the pants holster.

Like a few others I have the 23 and the Fobus. I like the holster but for summer it is too bulky.


I do like this inside holster though and may pick it up soon.

They are refered to as IWB holsteres. Inside waist band holsters. I enjoy a IWB holster but it has to be adjustable for the angle at which it sits. I am a larger framed person and it is uncomfortable for me to have certain ones. That is why I had all of mine made. Comfort to me is extremely important for something I have to carry for several hours at a time. Walking, jogging, etc.. is not a problem but sitting down to eat or drive a car is different. I have a seperate firearm in my car usually, but my ultra compact 1911 has to be comfortable when I sit down, etc. Plus you have to be able to tactically draw and defend yourself. Goodnight.
