ok guys i was driving ( gma style) down the road to my friends house (30 minutes away ) and my car was running like a dream .. shifting smooth and effortlessly !!!! .. i went to turn down the road he lives on and noticed that it was so hard to put it in gear but i express ( still does not grind !) but was so HARD to put it in 2nd , 4th , reverse .... 1st 3rd and 5th are still smooth changing but it takes almost all my arm muscle to put it in 2nd 4th and reverse .. and once its in the gear the car will drive still and wont grind or anything ... no noises from tranny either ..... NOTHING ... i dont know where to go from here cause it aint synchro's and it aint the gears ..... so WTH ??????????????? why is it so hard to put into gears ? shift fork broke maybe ? shifting rod broke ?>? give me some opinions please ./

did . not solved .made sure shift linkage isnt bent , changed axles ( needed it anyway) it isnt my clutch cuz it does it wether the clutch is engaged or not .. so it has to be inside the tranny ... but i havent taken it off the car yet . NOTE : there is heavy resistence going into gear ... but it still will shift into gears with no grinding or noises at ALL!!!!!!! .. just has so much resistence going into 2nd,4th and reverse.... i have to use both arms to get into them three gears .... the other gears are still effortlessly .

The first thing I would check would be your shift linkage...make sure everything is where it is supposed to be. Let us know what you find

same issues in the past need a new tranny, unless its hydro related problem make sure your slave an master are working perfect which if it is only in the 2 4 reverse gears but 1 3 5 are perfect you will need a new tranny

Yup, make sure your slave and master are working, if NOT, you'll need a new tranny.

Good luck, man. Hope everything goes alright.

it can't be the 2nd and 4th shift forks. 1st and 2nd share the same shift fork; 3rd and 4th share 1 fork as well. you may have a problem with the main or countershaft. time for an overhaul...

yea, i would suggest a tranny flust as well, but i would have someone check the syncros as well even though its highly un-likely they would all go out so sudden. plus gs-r transmissions arent known for it.
