Ferrari Challenge is April 18-19 at Road Atlanta. The weekend will include the Ferrari F430 Challenge races, Ferrari F1 Clienti, and the FXX Program. There will be no Shell Historic Challenge at this event from what I am hearing and the schedule shows nothing for them.

It's a FUN event, I enjoy it, last year I worked it and it was by far the most fun event I ever worked. The racing is CLOSE, and it's like Spec Miata bumper banging except with Ferrari's I love seeing CRAZY rich people be stupid lol.

Daily Schedule: https://secure.ferrarichallenge.com/series/roadAtlanta

This year I believe the workers are SCCA people, I work for the track doing it. You can sign up with the SCCA and start flagging! Gives you a nice view, free stuff, and it's interesting hearing everything through the radios. Makes it hard to watch racing and not be involved lol.

LMFAO that's awesome.

BTW so much carnage last year, my room has enough F430 challenge parts to almost make a whole body :lmfao: . I have a rear diffuser from one of them that fell off, perfect condition, going on the Miata. :goodjob:

haha, i used to wonder the same thing, but it just started happening one day a few years ago and 1000 resumes later. some of it is word of mouth from team to team, some of it is the 1000 resumes I have out and some of it is me talking to everyone at the track making myself familiar and the rest of it is just plain hard work. This industry is extremely competitive, as it should be.

It seems we might have a decent showing of IA people so getting a meet in a section might not be a bad idea. Maybe near turn 6 & 7.

Tickets are CHEAP when compared to other pro Road Atlanta events.

As usual, look for me in T3, or you can't miss my car, red Miata, stickers, roll bar, etc.

I think the outright lap record is 1:06.242 by Stephane Sarrazin's Pug 908 at the 2008 Petit quailfer.

I doubt the owner or driver of this F1 car will be hot lapping it to that level.

You gotta consider though. Last year at Spa's 7 kilometer circuit.

The Peugeot 908 HDI FAP quailifed at (1:58.069)
Lewis Hamilton's McLaren MP4/23 clocked a time of (1:47.338)

If i remember correctly, the car has to be at least 5 seasons old for Ferrari to sell it to you but they will do it. It also comes with the fixing and even spares package.

I can't even begin to imagine what it would cost. I saw a TV show about a Brit that did it and the event is crazy as the car is presented to you under a robe with Champagne and all that other glitz. Must be nice.

2 F1 cars

The F1 cars were older, not 2000's or anything, BUT sexy ;) . One is Alesi's old car.

Ive heard stories of how you dont really get to take the car with you. they keep it,and you get to come drive it when they feel like letting you. it takes some serious manpower to even start one of these cars.

If you weren't sitting at 10a/10b you missed a hard crash that moved the barrier over a foot. Then on the white flag lap the 15th/16th place cars tried to go 2 wide through 10a and made contact and spun. Some damn good racing from start to finish.
