I am about to run about 7 t0 8lbs of boost but have a very minimal valve cover leak. would it be safe to run boost now and fix soon after or just go ahead and fix?

FIX IT. THE VALVE COVER GASKET KIT IS CHEAP AND EASY TO DO

Why not just fix the problem for $20 ? Doesn't make sense to take a risk if you have an option...

UH NO

JUST REMOVE THE VALVE COVER...UVE NEVER REPLACED A VALVE COVER? ITS SIMPLE. U REPLACE THE VALVE COVER GASKET AND THE SPARK PLUG GROMMETS AND W/E ELSE IS IN THE KIT. ITS A STRAIGHT FORWARD JOB. EVEN I CAN DO IT:eek:

unless you trust yourself reading a manual/ stuff on the net....I would let a professional do a head gasket...

fix it or you will have just accidentally your whole motor.

what the hell kinda question is this anyways? if theres a problem before turboing a car (or any other major mod for that matter...), why would you NOT fix it ahead of time?

car should be in mechanical tip top shape before you boost it.

please make sure that it isn't the vtec solenoid leaking. I have replace many b series hg's and its quite simple, I got too where I could take the head off in like 30 mins or less, but putting it back on is alittle different. Might want to get ARP Heads studs tooo.

so you go through all the work of boosting a honda and don't wanna fix a simple oil leak ?

how do i do the head gasket i guarantee it isnt his head leaking ... i bet he noticed some oil from the vtec solenoid leaking and it looks like its coming out between the head and block ....

wipe everything off and clean with degreaser before taking your head off. like someone else said "its probably the vtec solinoid leaking" or the distributor seal. my b16 had oil in the corner all the time and i thought the same thing but turned out to be the distributor seal.

hmm, i should probably check all my gaskets. I credits my dirty engine to "gunk" but it looks like a less serious version of that Picture. lol.
