Found this beast in Lula... it was fucking ginormous! I don't like going in them so I usually just take some exterior pictures lol. Just the window to the upstairs was ridiculously creepy.

#6 is probably the strongest. It tells a story more than the others do. The colors are rich, horizon is level, and simplest.

if you could work on anything, I would say some of those are out of focus. It could be how you downsized them, but still, they are soft in some spots. Also, I am seeing some gross chromatic aberrations in the trees especially. What lenses were you shooting with?

my biggest problem BY FAR is the lens i have. it's just the 38-70 that came with it. i have a good eye for subjects and angles and overall composition, but it's so hard to make my shots as crispy as i want. i like to shoot open shots (like #6) but my lens always takes a shit on me lol. it performs best (obviously) to close-up and small shots... i don't know much about lenses...

any suggestions as to what lens i should invest in? or do you think my body just isn't cutting the cheese anymore (sony a100)

Not sure man. I know nothing about the Sony lineup. What aperture are you shooting these at? Almost all lenses perform better at 2-3 stops down from wide open, so if you are shooting wide open, start there.
