It's similar to Facebook, but it is business oriented. If you need references, contacts, common interest groups, etc. That is the place to go. Your network/profile reflect who you are. Jobs are there as well.

I'm on there, but don't use it too much. As soon as you add someone, people feel they can be real familiar with you.

I can honestly say that on LinkedIn I ONLY add people that I know. Everyone in my contact list is someone that have interacted with face-2-face.

I do not accept random request from recruiters or people.

I hear ya. The other thing is, some people end up making you the middle man for introductions and the like. I don't like that if I don't know you like that. Ya know?
