A solid or a liquid?

I dont know why i was thinking about this today but is peanut butter a solid or a liquid.

I asked different people and some told me solid and some told me liquid. everyone had there reasons which made sense so it didnt help much.

What you think?

A definite shape does not have to be a cylinder, cube, cone or etc.

i know but it takes the shape of whatever container it is in (like what a liquid does) or whatever shape you want it to have

Same with play-dough. Still a solid.

how exactly is it classified as a solid then? its still not making sense.

Earlier my girls step-dad was dead set on it being a liquid. thats why i need real evidence its a solid or a liquid

Well it is "techniqually" a colloid, due to the fact that peanut butter on a microscopic level is solids suspended in a liquid it is more on the solid side.

No it's more of a solid than a liquid but because of it's atomic make up it is a colloid.

you can't pour it so it not a liquid is what I think of.
When it's heated up it may become liquid, but at room temp it is solidified.

*edit/ just found this. Your question is so 2 years ago.

Only the saturated fats will really become liquids.

It still melts into liquid like form, where it can be poured
thats what i was getting at

I didn't post it to say "here this helps!" Sorry for misleading, I just though it was funny the same question has been asked and (un)answered with the same sort of responses you seem to be getting.

yeah thats what also made it confusing. It may take forever for it to pour out of something but it will pour out after awhile
