There are a few different brands of aerosol can carpet/seat dyes out there. That would probably be the easiest. Google it.

Edit:
Here (http://www.professionalcarcare.com/Aerosol-Vinyl-Carpet-Dye-p-16195.html)

They might even have similar stuff at autoparts stores.

A big tub, and maybe some of that RIT dye at Hobby Lobby. You're probably going to need a lot for carpet. They also have a spray if you wanna take a small piece of carpet and try to see how long the color stays when out in the sun. That's the tough part is it not fading to crazy colors like orange/red, because of UV rays.

If you want to try the stuff in a spray can I got the Duplicolor Vinyl Carpet spray in black lolz I used it for some plastic trim pieces and it looked real good. Not crazy shiny like the krylon plastic paint. Haven't used it on fabric though.

SEMS makes a spray dye for vinyl and fabric. It can be bought in spraycans or in quarts to be applied with automotive spray equipment. For best results, remove the carpet and pressurewash it at the carwash. Next hang the carpet to dry for a couple of days. After drying, apply light even coats of dye (like three coats) use a wheel/tire cleaning brush to brush the carpet after it dries (appx. 20 mins) then repeat the dyeing process again, dry 20 mins, brush out. Do this untill you achieve the desired look. Hope this helps.

My friend used Duplicolor carpet paint or whatever, here are the results on the original carpet from his car.
