In my last thread I posted up about 5 pictures taken out on a trail in the woods...well here are a couple more from the same area(but from a different trail) that I took earlier today. This will most likely be my last thread with pictures from a point and shoot, my shinny new Canon XSi is supposed to be here Thursday and ill be able to take some REAL pictures!
I'm brand new to this so if anyone would like to offer any suggestions, please do.
1. It didnt turn out exactly the way i wanted, but I liked the angle

2. I wish I would of taken this one a little closer to the bridge, but my buddy was in a hurry and I didn't have time to play around with it.

3. I like this one, its not even that great of a photo...I just like it...

If you took the time to learn your controls and functions your point and shoot could do alot better. Here is a photo I took w/my point and shoot: [not thread jacking]
Did you use a tripod? have you familiarized yourself w/the settings?.

Well, I don't have a tripod because it's just a point and shoot. I have one coming with my new camera, and i believe it will help out a whole lot. as far as familiarizing myself with the settings, I feel like i learn a little bit every time I go out and take some pictures, but as for knowing the camera forwards and backwards, i do not. Actually, I feel like one of my biggest problems is relying more on the image editing side than i do the picture taking side. I'm trying to break myself of that but its a slow go.
thats a very nice picture by the way, reps.

Yea the tripod is a great way to help out,and take just as much time if not more when taking the pictures.Editing can not fix everything..

Maybe .. but I was showing what can be done with simple adjustments and the use of a tripod.Busy or not it is fun I do it for enjoyment,If you have fun you learn alot quicker than when getting frustrated.
O.P read the manual that comes with your new camera.Give it a week and I bet you'll see great progression.Good luck and have fun!

what settings are you talking about exactly? tripod is definitely not needed for bright outdoor sunlit shots. seriously. :???:
