This is a metal cover, thats the BACKSIDE of the ecu (meaning the part that faces DOWN) thats just painted a color. I mean i dont get it. I wouldnt have wasted the $5 or the 10 min it took to do it.

And dude its a chipped p28 i have 30 of them in my garage lol. ITs not really a MOD. ANd anyone that gets their car tuned and leaves it visible is a jackass. The only reason i ever had one that was visible is because i had zero interior , and i ran open header, and the vibration would make the chip pop out so i had to be able to slap it back in.

It was 50/50 on my porsche brake setup, people are like why not just use Accord or NSX calipers? lol! Maybe because they weigh 4 times as much and after doing a 5 lug conversion would cost twice as much lol and not work 1/2 as well?!! Everybody seemed to like my spoiler/splitter but everyone wanted one made for 1/2 what i had into the materials...not counting the time to fabricate it, lol! One of the mods took a month to mail my ECU because his "buddy" works for UPS and can ship it for free. I PAID him EXTRA to send it ASAP because i was using a p72 on a ITR engine lol. 1/2 a dozen PM's and a callout later [where i proceeded to get bashed saying give him time to send it] he finally mailed it. It had been a MONTH! I can't stand one make car forums anyways, they are always bashing other brands like theirs is god's gift on earth. Besides that (not trying to call you out) the "offset, wire tuck, lowered, polished bay" cost just as much, or more than building a 11-12 second honda. This is the new phase that the honda scene is slowly leaning to. It went from custom fab work, to widebody's, to JDM now onto this west coast clean look.

Lets face it. I would have a damn 11 second honda right now if I spend all the money I have spent in WHEELS alone ..... BUT its not what I'm into. I would rather buy a tucked harness for 800 dollars than a turbo manifold. I would rather spend 2k on wheels that look good on my car than a built head. I would rather have my car extremely low to the ground and look "hella flush" than be able to beat a mustang from a 30 dig. To each his own.

As far as painting the ECU cover.....it's whatever....a waste of time IMO seeing the it IS the bottom and cant be seen, but whatever. People get bored and do things just to be themself. On the Honda challenge cars we ran aluminum wings and ALWAYS got shit for it by other teams. The Del Sols would run well over 140mph at Road Atlanta [and the Prelude was clocked doing 151 in the back stretch]. Without them the cars would rotate way too much in the turns and was too unstable at higher speeds. Put that same wing on a street car and it would look ridiculous lol! Nothing like blowing past 100% full race 911's and BMW's at VIR going up to the roller coaster during sprint and endurance races then veteren drivers coming to our paddock afterwards asking what's in that thing...200+whp, about $8k in suspension, and years of aerodynamic testing = a quick car.

That is a select few that i know of though and trust me I agree with you. They do think that they are better than others. NOW alot of other individuals, including myself, just like to go out and have fun with other friends. Most of my friends dont care if you have rotas, stock, no- wheels. If your a cool guy/girl than your cool in our books.

Now back on subject the new "fad" is kinda cool. Give it time and see where it goes. Who knew back in 93 that a civic hatch could look as cool as some of them now.

It was a few things combined. I was bored, I had seen it done (where I got the idea), had some extra paint, and the ECU had a large sticker that had been painted over by the previous owner... looked pretty shitty. IMO nothing on the car looks shitty so I wasn't going to possibly put it on my car. I'll also be stripping the IC piping and painting it.

Another thing that gets me, people saying it's blue and the car is green. Why does that matter? Since when does shit "match" when it comes to hondas? I'm only using Bucky as an example because his car is well-known, but carbon fiber VC, blue engine bay, and silver car doesn't match... yet I've never seen anyone say anything about it. Is that because it's a more well-known trend? :thinking:
