Is power neccessarily "added" to a B series engine when the valve lash on the intake valves are set .002 - .003" past the factory recommended setting? It simply means that the valve is opening much wider than it normally would, right?

Also means it will not fully seat against the head.

hm, because i did a valve adjustment this morning for my b18b1 and followed the adjustment settings for the 1990 b18a1's valves, which is the intake being .006 - .007 and the exhaust being .007 - .008 from my Haynes manual which only goes up to the 1993 motors... I've got a 1994, i should probably re-do the valve adjustment shouldnt I? B18b1 motors need .003 - .005" on the intake, correct?

If you are running all factory parts, adjust to factory specs.
