Hello Everyone,
I was told about this site by a buddy of mine and I figured I'd register and say hi.

My name's Walter, moved from Italy to Miami in 2000 and from Miami to Atlanta a couple of years ago. I own a clean 1G Talon TSi AWD (http://cs.fiu.edu/%7Ewcang001/bs/SVX/TalonFS/Talon1.JPG) with suitable work done to her, a Subaru SVX (http://cs.fiu.edu/%7Ewcang001/bs/SVX/FS/fuori4.jpg) with a 5spd swap and an EG Hatchback which is bone stock and my beloved daily driver in these days of roller-coasting gas prices and shady parking lots. My other toy is a Ducati 748S with a mildly built 996 swap (http://cs.fiu.edu/%7Ewcang001/Duc/Duc1.JPG), Termignoni exhaust and some other goodies.

I have been thinking of selling the DSM and SVX to simplify my life (too many irons in the fire) and - perhaps - buy one of the non-ugly I-6 TT powered BMWs or a 370Z, although my DSM's made me so FI-dependent I'm leaning towards the Bavarian option for the time being.

Looks like this is a nice, active community and I look forward to read around and perhaps swing by one of the upcoming events.

Regards,

-Walter

Thanks for the warm welcome guys.

hadouken: Hatch is not for sale man hehe... it was a mission to find a bone stock one down in Miami for a decent price. If and when the mighty 8V SOHC non-VTEC D15 (67hp) goes, I'll probably drop a B-series or LS motor, but will keep her as clean looking as possible, I just think it will be nice to finally be able to pass other cars on the highway. ;) Do you play Street Fighter? Been playing SF3 - 3rd Strike on the Mame box at work, it's been a blast.

m374llic4: Nice 2G, good call on the 6-bolt, keep it clean. :)

aguynamedpat: Thanks for the heads up, I am/was the President of the Miami Club DSM for several years, but the club has pretty much closed with all the new cars coming out in the past few years (SRT-4, EVO, WRX etc). There is still a small group of hardcore DSMers that meet in South Florida, good friends of mine. Will check GADSM for sure, thanks for the heads up.

Mullet Man: Yeah, she's heavy as a cow, but so aerodynamic and planted on the ground it feels like she's on rails. I can't stand AT and the SVX was the only car I ever bought with AT, knowing that one day I'd have upgraded to the transmission she was meant to be built with (well, just because I couldn't afford a 6mt from an STi). The boxer-6 is a great engine too, extremely smooth and fairly torquey.

XanRules: Those are Nissan Murano wheels... they fit perfectly, offset and all, pretty sought after by SVX owners. I am finishing the centercaps, removed the Nissan emblems, filled the holes, repainted and applying small SVX decals on them.

Thanks again everyone.

No problem man. The GADSM group has changed a little bit but there are still a ton of people over there that go to meets. You need to check out GADSM's HUGE event coming up, Import Showdown down at Silver Dollar Raceway in Reynolds, GA. (www.importshowdown.com) (http://www.importshowdown.com%29).

Most members on GADSM keep posting long after their DSM is gone too.

I was very close to getting an SVX about 2 years back, but I ended up not getting it. I signed up on some SVX forum to ask a few questions about them and the guys on there were REALLY cool. Cant remember which one though.

Thanks Pat.

I signed up over at GA-DSM, seems like a nice and well organized group.

The SVX community has a lot of cool members, my favourite colour is "Panda" like my DSM (commonly known as "pearlie" on the SVX Forums). When I get rich I'll buy a pearlie SVX, swap an STi 6-speed and install the Cloud (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v210/|Z|Ryuken/Carstuff/svx_cloud_20060713.jpg) or KStaff (http://www.geocities.com/pepesvx/bluekstaff1.html) front bumper. ;)
