First off, Let me just come out and say that i think the Chinese car/motorbike industry is the biggest disgrace ever to come to any form of industry.

With that said, here's more reason why i feel this way.

Autoblog...

Back in 2007, Chinese automaker Brilliance made international news when its BS6 sedan failed crash tests performed by the ADAC (Germany's version of our AAA) in fantastic (and frightening) fashion. The crash tests were performed according to Euro NCAP guidelines at the time, and the mangled heap of metal that remained was truly horrific.

Brilliance is back with the BS4 sedan, and again the ADAC has performed its full battery of crash tests, though this time using newer Euro NCAP guidelines that take into account the availability of electronic stability control as standard equipment and potential damage to pedestrians. How'd it do? Just like the Brilliance before it, the BS4 scored zero stars.

It's not all bad news, though. Under the old Euro NCAP guidelines, the BS4 would have achieved three stars, a score that the BS6 needed two tries and a structural redesign to match. Even watching video of the BS6 crash test compared to video of the BS4, it's apparent that Brilliance has learned a thing or two about how to keep car from folding up like an according during a frontal impact. Still, it wasn't enough to score a single point in the new tests, which means Brilliance once again needs to go back, makes some changes and try again.

For those that have forgotten, here was Brilliance's previous attempt at a crash test (BS6) that failed miserably.

I'm getting a good idea of what the "BS" part of the name stands for.

And here is the video of the BS6 failure. Brilliance said they didn't think sales would be hurt after seeing the results. Pretty easy to see what they think of customers as.

At first I thought this was old news, but then I realized that this was the SECOND car made by them to get zero stars!

Also, IMO it looks like a blatant rip off of a 3 series.

Isn't anything China makes a rip off of something?

BMW actually went to court about this and somehow lost......How?

I would love to wake up tomorrow and see the entire chinese auto industry be gone.

What a freaking disgrace to anyone who has ever invented/developed anything.

Look at the BS6 at 1:50 in the video, the A pillar falls apart..

Then compare it to the Lexus GS at the beginning..

I am enjoying their failure..

Nice headlights, but the over all car sucks.

I guess they were trying to make a VERY cheaply made car..and light as possible.

I sincerely wish the Chinese car companies would be forced to be locked away and only sold in their own country until a time comes when they can make a car that won't be a rolling deathtrap that barely meets emissions standards (and even then, has been proven to rapidly degrade to a failing level).

There is no way in hell that Americans or Europeans would buy a Chinese car.

They did.

Then Korean cars stopped being deathtraps that broke down a year after you bought it new.

I stand by my statement, I hope nobody lets the Chinese out of their box until they learn how to play nice with the rest of us like the Koreans have. I mean, I can't wait till I can get a Chinese version of a BMW 7 series that actually has the same quality as the real-deal with a $35,000 price tag.

it does make you somewhat appreciative of all the standards we do have- even if sometimes they keep some cool cars from getting here

In that video, they were testing the crash test wall. They loaded up the back of the VW with concrete and shot it at the wall. And I believe it was older and kinda rusty to start with.

Here are videos of the real T-3 transporter crash tests. I think the results speak for themselves :goodjob:

That looks much better. I couldn't imagine a 70's VW would come out of an accident as poorly as the one with the cement.

And lol at Chinese auto manufacturers.

Their spelling and grammer errors are nothing when comapared to their mistakes on motorsport. They thought the Petit Le Mans was held at Road America.
