View Full Version : Humanity Past It's Peak?

Does anyone else feel that the human race has by far already passed it's peak of existence? Yeah, technology is getting better by the day, but people and life in their natural aspects are turning to sh*t. It only seems to get worse the more that time goes on.

I'm about ready for the apocalypse, armageddon, the second coming of Christ, the Sun to implode, or whatever else at this point to just hurry up and wipe us out. Anyone else?

yup. Everyone thinks that being fat and you can just be unhealthy is fine because nowadays there's a pill for everything. Right....

Or letting your kids run amok on society and you shouldnt discipline them because it will hurt their self-esteem. Haha RIGHT!!!!

If they're lucky, maybe the end of the world will come before they get a chance to become the failures that the parents are making them out to be.

Yes, humanity has been falling since AD476 when the western roman empire fell. :goodjob:

I think that we're just making technology to try to recapture lost ancient knowledge but I dont think we're past our peak. I think people are getting dumber and more immoral but thats just because we're allowed to indulge in any pleasures we wish.

Freud says that the more people please themselves (or others), the less overall work will be accomplished in a civilization and it will cause said civilization's downfall. The non-sexual laborers will carry the backbone of society, leading to a massive class struggle, furthering the communist revolution. The last bit is my interpretation on his book 'Civilization and its Discontents'.

We just have a lot more to worry about these days due to increasing complexities in the world. Historically you just had to worry about feeding your family, not their overall wellness and happiness. Now you have to make sure your wife feels sexy and your kids are wearing the newest Air Force Ones to school. Our society is just too material in nature.

Now it's to the point where a lonely man can pick up a robot to replace a woman or the other way around. Sorry but it's coming to the point like the movie AI.

If you look at what Japanese people are creating it's shocking and scary because they look so real.

Isn't everyone materialistic because "it feels good" that "you need it" to please your senses? I think from before to now a lot has relaxed, and I mean A LOT.

Screen name jacks are NOT cool. But in this case it is.

I've always said that God has made one fatal mistake in His existence. Man. If He had never put us on Earth, He would have remained a perfect entity. Year after year, I've seen and lived how hatred between humans grows to extreme levels. I can remember the days of not locking your doors before you went to bed. You could leave your car at the mall without really locking them up. I remember driving down roads in different cities and other drivers waving at you. Especially in smaller towns. Now even those smaller towns just look at you as if hoping you're just passing through. The countryside is being torn to shreds with all the building of neighborhoods and shopping centers. It's definitely sickening to see.

The world, just plain sucks. Later, QD.

Why not try to do something to better that then? The best investment in these times is to invest in the next generation. I doubt I need to tell you this though, but raise your kids to be immune to the consumerist bullshlt that is rampant in our society.

The thread didn't ask if I was doing anything about it. It asked if humanity was gone? I answered accordingly. I'm actually doing what I can. I'm still a very nice, polite guy. As I've been taught at a young age, I do the "ma'am" and "sir" thing. I hold the door open for not just women, but men as well. I say "how are you today" before I start any conversation with people I come into direct contact with and even some I don't. I try to spread politeness everywhere I go. It may not seem that way from the way I conduct myself on here, but that's the difference in my E-life and my real one.

I teach all four of my offspring to do the same. Lucky for me, they listen. Later, QD.

They'll either be swept up into it by their own free will, or the world around them will force them to assimilate into the social norm. :(

I'm definitely trying to instill values and respect in my son. I try to stay positive, much in the same respect as QD. I always try to be polite and courteous.

Grab a gun and blow your head off if you dont like it...

Sitting here and complaining about humans is a waste of time.. When you waste your time on useless shit, time will pass you by.... In life is about passing time not letting time pass you...

Live your life and move on.

Or better yet, get a career to further development of the people of the world. Go join the peace corps and do something to help somebody. Hell go be an innercity teacher so you can try to exert a positive influence on even a single child.

Quit being selfish and give your time and labor for the good of humanity, not just to fill your pockets and wallet. Invest in good times not material posessions.

Thank you. Its so easy for selfish people to get wrapped up in the small circle that is their lives and feel bad for themselves. I know because i used to be the same way, until i realized its a waste of my earthly time and stupid to concentrate so much of my energy on negativity.

Did a past world exist, then they reached their peak, blew everything up, and technologies went back to zero?

And we were just a restart? About to restart again?

A cycle maybe?

I think society as a whole gets smarter as time passes. 100 years ago racism was accepted, today it is still existent but not to the extreme it used to be.

We as humans mature slowly, but we keep evolving for the better. And FYI technology, especially computer science grows at an exponential rate.

A cycle maybe?I don't quite think that's the case. Though a process of wiping the board clean and starting over is a nice thought.

Or how every 7-50yr old is obsessed with killing in video games. It's like electronic training. Not to mention how bad music has made it

I honestly feel sorry for all the 90's babies and beyond. :(
