so yeah... I was at work when someone came in the store and said "does someone in here own that yellow car?" and I said yes, why... and they said "someone just hit you"... and i went out there to find this lady and their dog sitting on the hood of their honda... and she said "your car is fine... what do you want to do?"

really? my car is fine? cause i had to get a friend to help me pull the fender off my tire so i could drive home!

oh and... she said... "I was looking for my lighter and i didn't realize i was rolling back until i heard scraping" so yeah... my car was hurt because she needed a light

I really don't know what I am going to do... I wasn't planning on doing any painting on the car until i could paint the whole car... and in order to do that I need to fix that rust hole at the rear window, which you can see in the pic... and need to have some major body work done on the front end (you can't tell cause there is like a half inch of bondo on it... literally). This really is not in the budget right now... I don't like half assed paint jobs... it would look weird to just paint part of it... it kinda ruined the whole look of my car... not to mention that I registered it in the VW show in two weeks :(

If you've got the rust hole then why be bummed over a few scratches? Just wait to get it painted or talk them into painting the whole car. Maybe you can fix the bondo and stuff before sending it in and just pay the difference?

Why be bummed over the scratches? Cause I loved the car the way it is... It wasn't all scratched up, the paint was in good shape... granted not perfect... but i don't like perfect... if i have the car painted I won't drive it anymore because I will be afraid I will scratch it... just like my beetle that I stopped driving after I got it painted... and I got this car to drive...

I took the car to get the wheels balanced... debating on buffing the paint out if it stays cleared up for a bit$1,400 might be enough to get the rust repaired and most of the prep done, just might not be enough for a complete inside and out paint job though...but then you wouldn't want to drive it either lol! I'm the same way. $2k paint job with shaved molding and brand new front and rear bumpers and I never wanted to drive my car...or at least park it in public places lol.
