Ok, there is this this product that claims if you add it to your oil, it will coat the surfaces in your engine and bond forming a very thin layer of nearly-crystal-strength material that reduces internal friction by 80%, reduced wear by 90%, and improved fuel economy and performance by 5-10%. I know the claims might be far fetched but I wanted to know if it worked at all. They say 1 $60 treatment will last for 100k miles. Any thoughts on this? Anyone ever use it? I'm weary to try it out myself, but if it works even half as well as the claims I definitely want to. I don't want a bunch of people who haven't used it to say negative things while trying to pass them off as fact so if your making an assumption of the product, please make us aware. I know some people on here are still scared of seafoam but that stuff is amazing and I've never had negative results, so don't always listen to all the bad hype on something.

If a few people on here have used it and can give me a definite "yes" I might want to go try it on my car.

Additives like that rob too many people.

Change your oil and air filter every 3,000 miles (or sooner than needed).

Most manufacturer's recommend that you get a tune up every 50,000 miles, but if you race your car or drive it excessively hard on a day to day basis, you'll be needing to do a tune up more often.

If you don't know what all a basic tune up consists of, it's changing your air filter, changing or cleaning your spark plugs, replacing your distributor cap and rotor. If you want to ensure the best amount of protection, and proper engine performance, change your spark plug wires, PCV Valve, and O2 sensor.

It's worth it, and you'll sleep better at night.

Air filter every 3k miles? Really? I've had mine in for 30k miles and it's still fine. I've even run the car with a brand new one to see if the old one needed replacing, and I couldn't tell even a slight difference.

I've heard of dealers recommending it being replaced every 3,000 miles, but it's not 100% necessary in my opinion. If you have a gravel driveway, you will definitely have to replace it before someone who doesn't. It really all depends on where you drive your vehicle.

I will at least spray mine out with the air compressor a few times before I change it, though.

Yeah, if you live in dusty areas, or drive behind a 240 on a dry dusty road (Ahem, sidewaysS13 *cough cough*) then that 3k miles can be justifiable.
