A buddy of mine called me up asking me if id take some promo shots for his band. of course i said sure! First time ive done Band shots but i thought they turned out pretty cool. here are a few.

Whats up with the tiny DOF in the parking deck photo? Everyone but the front man is blurred out, yo!

some are good some suck
#1 sucks becuase you have them all double chins asshole
parking garage sucks....well because of DOF. horrible

looks like someone needs to learn how to post. and buy a gtr.

anyways, shallow DOF is not for portrature, especially when you are trying to show off more than one person, doh.
also, don't go so wide if its going to distort your subject's face. doh.
the one with the round tunnel is kinda cool.

that one is the best to me...
plus i have those same shoes lol. the fish eye shots are not really working for people shots... makes them look too amorphous :dunno:
as far as subjects... not really diggin' their style but that's neither here nor there lol.

i think the location is very cool but whatever he is standing on is really distracting. it is the best of the set even though my eye tends to be drawn toward the bottom of the frame away from the person.

I disagree. I don't find the grating distracting, but I think the photographer missed the 'cooler' angle. If they had lifted the camera up a few inches then the circular support members of the tunnel would look like they were emanating from the subject's head... giving him a sort of halo.
