I remember my father had one of these brand new back in the day... and i hated him when he sold it for 500 bucks eight years ago....

remember it like it was yesterday.

Since I live two hours away, i was curious if anyone knew about this car before i go check it out. :)

long shot i know - and one can't ask for much when the prices are this cheap... but still... any tips/advice/wisdom offered on how to restore one of these old imports before i go open this can of worms would be greatly appreciated!

Jonathan,
Good choice on an old skool project. I don't know anything about this particular car, but at $1500.00 it should be a really nice stock corolla. These are a perfect platform to build a quick, fun reliable street/track car. It has the indestructible 1.8 3tc engine, many mods are available. The TE 72 chassis is still easy to find parts for, if you know where to look. We service, modify, and sell parts for most t series corollas. Feel free to call us with any questions or needs. Also our shop is near Athens, if you would like us to look at the car and give you our opinion we could probably arrange that also. Hope you find you a great Old Skool project and get it out on the road. Call me with any questions or advice. 404-587-5590
Thanks,
Dave.
