what have you checked? there's alot of things that'll cause vtec not to engage.

trace the wires back to the ecu

Most obvious question... did you let the engine come up to normal operating temperature? VTEC has an idiot-proof feature of not engaging until the engine is warmed up.

also check

wires make sure they are going to the right pin on the ecu
oil pressure not enough oil or pressure will stop it from engaging
clean the screen on the solenoid

X2^ on that, and make sure u have no check engine lights, your speedo has to work for vtec to work, and I know someone said check your oil pressure but also just check the level too(low level, lower pressure).....

if you have low oil in your continueum transfunctioner it wont pop because of the power that wont be sent to teh vtec from the ecu.
if that doesn't work just burn it and call insurance :goodjob:

lirl!

check and make sure the pins you have going into your ecu are the correct pins, if they are not then it may not be connecting into your ecu which would make it so your VTEC wont engage:goodjob:

check the screen in the vtec solenoid, mine was not working yesterday and the screen was clogged, also touch a wire to the battery and the connector and see if it clicks..

lol some of you don't realize technically oil can be called vtec fluid. considering that is whats is sprayed on the cam(s) as vtec is engaged. :D

What about your knock sensor

LIKEG6
04-03-2009, 02:06 PM
1. Check the wiring
2. Check the soleniod it self, screens and all
3. Check your coolant temp sensors
4. Check your oil level
5. Make sure your speedo works
