yout hink 1/2 a gallon would be enough? maybe get some distilled water from the store to top it off? also where do you get yours i found a store online where i can get it for like 18 bucks for a 1/2 gallon shipped.

I use 50/50 glycol coolant. Your thermostat regulates the temperature so unless you're overloading the system then nothing is going to work any better than anything else. If you want to change it every year go for water wetter and such, otherwise just put regular coolant in it and change it every 2 years like you're supposed to. If its a track bike then you have other options since you can't use glycol based coolant.

only thing i heard about using regular coolant is you need to use bike formulated coolant because of the ingredients. they differ from bike to automotive formulas. i read a little about water wetter and how it was pretty good. i am pretty OCD about maintenance. hell the bike was fully done about 2 months before i got it but i want to do a few things cause thats how i am lol. a waste of money, maybe but it helps me relax a little knowing its fresh.

I've never heard of any real difference between bike coolant and car coolant.

what kind of bike is it, how many miles are on it and were you runing synthetic oil before?

It doesn't matter if there was synthetic oil in it or not. You can switch to synthetic at any point and switch back if you want to. The hype about not doing that is complete BS and is not in any way true.

AMSOIL comes highly recommended from many people.

x2 for engine ice...helps the motor run a little cooler AND is legal for %90 of the tracks/strips if you happen to end up there within the next year or two.

x3 for Engine Ice!! I've seen lower temps on my 06 R1!! Seriously, it keeps my bike temp cooler than regular coolant. I live and die by it!!
