ok so saturday i drove to my friends shop to get my exhaust fixed after i left heading home i got on the highway went threw 1st and 2nd gear just fine then when i get to 3rd the car jerked then it died,i pulled over with the momentum i had tried cranking it but nothin.I had to get it towed home so i look at the fuel pump and it works,it will turn over but wont crank i check the spark plug wires to see if there any power and that was it no power running threw them no spark,so im looking at all connections to see if there maybe a cut wire or loose wire but nothing what can it be?

try a known good distributor from a friend. i've seen too many msd give trouble on hondas...i have come to hate them with a passion. lately i've seen 2 dist burnt up from the msd.

my bet is on the msd, dist, or both.

if it does turn over but no fire it could be the coil.

what kind of car? if it is a honda , take off your distributor cap and see if the rotor button fell off the rotor will not fall off the cap keeps it in place when ever i do a tune up on my car i never but the bolt that keeps the rotor button on do to striping the philps head is realy easy to strip do to over tighting :goodjob: so when ever you do a tune up never put the bolt in besides when the rotor button is on for a while its kinda hard to take it off its like it sticks on lol hope this help some what.

Im willing to bet that its the msd. Id just return the ignition to a stock setup

I had as MSD ignition box with the stock distributor and came across the same problem that you have. All that was wrong was the wire from the MSD that ran to the power wire to the distibutor had come loose.

But if you have the MSD cap also, Im sure your setup is different.

yeah its the whole set up the 6al box and msd coil and cap and wires lol,but i had a nudge that it may be the culprit, well b4 and ima make sure i look at all the connections then if nothing ill just return it to stock and sell the msd setup, and it turns over but no fire
