Obama aggressively joined other officials in criticizing American International Group, the company that is fast becoming the poster boy for Americans' bailout blues.
The bonuses could contribute to a backlash against Washington that would make it tougher for Obama to ask Congress for more bailout help — and jeopardize other parts of the recovery agenda that is dominating the start of his presidency. Thus, the president and his top aides were working hard to distance themselves from the insurer's conduct, to contain possible political damage and to try to bolster public confidence in his administration's handling of the broader economic rescue effort.

I dont like the fact that they received anything from the people whom cannot get credit to purchase items anyway. No matter how big of a snowball this has become and regardless of the fact that they may be "contracted" with the execs.

Its the fact that this company was doin it wrong and still doing it wrong. No one should be rewarded for doing somethin negative continuously. My job wont give me a bonus for not working better. Un-productive ass company. That money should be used to correct the issues or pay back its debt to the companies in which it screwed over or at the very least, release some so-called "credit" in the market. Not to pay off its already wealthy execs.
