Well tonight was a sad night. On my way into work for a store meeting I was driving on Ronald Regan when I hit the corner to get onto Pleasant Hill road. The roads were kind of wet so I was driving a little slower than normal, but I guess it was not slow enough. The back end of my car decided to get a little loose.

I was in the inside lane when this happened. I started to counter steer the car, and for a minute I thought I had it. I had a smirk on my face, I had this. I slowly let off the accelerator as to try to pull the back end in when all the sudden the back stuck and slung shot my car forward.

Although my wheels were turned the way the road was going with all of the repair tar on the road my car slid like a sled on a icy slope forward. Being in the inside lane it didnt take long. The front end of my car kissed the guard rail ever so lightly; it was not even enough to spill any coke out of my can in the cup holder.

After the car hit the guard rail with its front, it spun around in the mud and hit it again this time on the rear. After the 360 was complete the car came to a stop on the side of the road stalled out and all.

I got out pissed, mainly because I had just decided to keep the car, but then realized that I needed to check my most precious possession on the car, my J's exhaust. As I slowly walked to the back of the car I peeked ever so slowly to see it still there untouched. The guard rail only took the drivers side.

The car is totalled, there is over $10,000 worth of damage to it that I can see. The insurance company will be out tomorrow morning to access the damage, but I question now is what shall I get?

Another S2000, a EVO, a STi? Possibly the Corolla TE72 wagon I have had my eye on for the last 6 months? I dont know, I guess its all up to the insurance claims adjuster tomorrow. Wish me luck. I guess all the paper work I decided to keep on the car on when I did every service, and all the papers on the AP2 tranny that was just installed was a good idea. Hopefully they dont try to dick me around. I know what my car is "WORTH" and I have pictures to prove I have baby'd it from day one.

Wish me luck

how but something you can afford/dont need to make payments on. not sure how much you got or are going to get tho. Right now I would just play it by ear.

i was thinking about the corolla just so I could have cash in my pocket, but then again I want something a little newer than 1979 as well, reliability is the main thing. I dont mind a payment I just want something a little less than the $300 I was paying. Maybe something in the $200-$225 range. I have $5000 to put down, and thats before I get anything from my insurance

You don't think you can reliability out of an old Toyota? If you get enough money, you can make that damn thing reliable without spending it all. Later, QD.

i know the wagon would be reliable, but it will take some time and money and with school right now and work, its kind of hard to find the time it will take to make it reliable...

but the wagon is definitely on the top 5 of my list right now....lol

i don't know man. I heart skipped a beat when you PM'd me this...

Daggum, you just bought the J's exhaust too. I say get another S2k just because of that. You just can't find a j's exhaust as easily as you did.

Sorry to hear man.

pics will be up later today. Its all body damage, headlights, front bumper, entire front core support, both fenders and all messed up in the front. For the rear, the trunk on the drivers side took the most beating, the quarter panel got mashed in pushing the trunk up a little as so it will not close.

Sorry to hear, im kind hoping for something like that for me, it's an easy way out but a dangerous one. lol.

I'm looking at getting an EVO in the near future or an SRT-4. SRT's are around 10 G's. Not bad, still puts cash in your pocket.

QFT i would take my 88 toyota pickup anywhere (except hot places because i dont have a/c) because i knwo it will last and i have 260k miles on it...only 'major' thing is the tensioner on teh timing chain is loose adn the chain rattles, but i've ridden it like that for over 20k miles, no problems
