Well tonight was a sad night. On my way into work for a store meeting I was driving on Ronald Regan when I hit the corner to get onto Pleasant Hill road. The roads were kind of wet so I was driving a little slower than normal, but I guess it was not slow enough. The back end of my car decided to get a little loose.
I was in the inside lane when this happened. I started to counter steer the car, and for a minute I thought I had it. I had a smirk on my face, I had this. I slowly let off the accelerator as to try to pull the back end in when all the sudden the back stuck and slung shot my car forward.
Although my wheels were turned the way the road was going with all of the repair tar on the road my car slid like a sled on a icy slope forward. Being in the inside lane it didnt take long. The front end of my car kissed the guard rail ever so lightly; it was not even enough to spill any coke out of my can in the cup holder.
After the car hit the guard rail with its front, it spun around in the mud and hit it again this time on the rear. After the 360 was complete the car came to a stop on the side of the road stalled out and all.
I got out pissed, mainly because I had just decided to keep the car, but then realized that I needed to check my most precious possession on the car, my J's exhaust. As I slowly walked to the back of the car I peeked ever so slowly to see it still there untouched. The guard rail only took the drivers side.
The car is totalled, there is over $10,000 worth of damage to it that I can see. The insurance company will be out tomorrow morning to access the damage, but I question now is what shall I get?
Another S2000, a EVO, a STi? Possibly the Corolla TE72 wagon I have had my eye on for the last 6 months? I dont know, I guess its all up to the insurance claims adjuster tomorrow. Wish me luck. I guess all the paper work I decided to keep on the car on when I did every service, and all the papers on the AP2 tranny that was just installed was a good idea. Hopefully they dont try to dick me around. I know what my car is "WORTH" and I have pictures to prove I have baby'd it from day one.
Wish me luck
