In Buckhead on Piedmont (near Peachtree)

It's a Brazilian Steakhouse. Its about $50 a head for dinner (drinks & desserts are extra) for all you can eat. They have a salad bar for the wussies. They give you these little cards. Green on one side and red on the other. If you have the green faced up they will continue to come to your table with all kinds of meat that they'll cut onto your plate... put the red side up and they'll leave u alone and let u digest. Flip it back over and WHAM.. fuckers are in your face with more meat.

Make reservations if you go on a weekend cuz the place gets packed. Oh, and Valet parking is FREE so if you take a date, dont cheap out and go to the self parking. A $3-$4 tip is all you need. Or if you're ballin like that, tip the fuckers a $20 and they'll leave your junk up front.

Anyway, real expensive, but worth it. :goodjob:

im not gonna lie, when i went there i was disappointed in the quality of food i received.

I went to south africa a couple of years ago and went to a very nice restuarant that had the same concept and they had meats that were far superior to what i tasted. The quality, seasoning, etc.. was superb.

I had basically all the game meats of africa, veal , ostrich, chicken, crocodile, zebra, giraffe, impala, ostrich, etc. it was unbelievable.

Fogo de chao is a good resturant but when you have experience the real deal in you just can't go to places like this because it just doesn't compare. also when i went there was not alot of variety that i expected. i know that a lot of meats are seasonal but there was just not alot to choose from. maybe i will just have to give it another shot later. also how many locations are there around atlanta. i may have just went to a bad location, i think the one i went to was in the kennesaw area

the place i went to was called The Carnivore.
http://www.restaurants.co.za/details.asp?resId=3213

dinner was 145 rand which is roughly 20bucks at a 7rand to 1 dollar exchange rate.

Oh and anyone that wants a good tasting meat should try ostrich. It is my favorite meat of all time. it tops the filet miganon and anything else.

This post is pretty retarded, That's like saying just because you ate longhorns you can't go to McDonalds anymore because it does not compare.

You went to the one in the Kennesaw area, huh? I guess you missed the memo. There is only 1 Fogo de Chao in GEORGIA. Good job. :goodjob:

Good stuff! I've been to the original one in Sao Paulo. Exact same thing for about $12 dollars :) In Atlanta there's also Sal Grosso on Powers Ferry and Carro de Boi on Roswell Rd if you're looking for the same food but a little cheaper.

When I was a kid I went with my family on a trip to the south of Brazil and we went to a restaurant in the middle of nowhere that was basically a little barn in the middle of acres of pasture with something like 100,000 head of cattle. There was a gate on the main road and then their "driveway" was like 3 miles long. Best steak of my life.

I know i have been before i cant remember the exact location because i was riding with my sister and parents, so i wasn't paying much attention to where. all i remember was passing a strip club on the way. i could be mistaken but im pretty sure this is where i went because i recognize the name and the cards. they bring out food and carve stuff on your plate, and the salad bar was on the left area of the resturant. also they carted out desserts to see if you wanted any etc..

the reason i compared that resturant to the other one is because i didn't feel like it was up to par as it could be. its like going to longhorn vs. outback not outback vs. mcdonalds. there is a different yet similar selection in meats, but i didn't feel like even the meats that were similar to the other restaurant compared to it. Fogo is a good resturant dont get me wrong but i am just expressing my opinion that its not amazing. i also posted for people that were travelers who were interested in places like this because there are several locations for the carnivore.

and damn you dont have to get on ufc just because i said something bout your restaurant. its not a bad resturant all. you should definately try out the other resturant if you ever get a chance to fly over that way on vacation or something. if you enjoy fogo you will fall in love with carnivore. its like buying a c class mercedes. you get the taste of a mercedes but until you ride the amg you havent truly experienced the best it gets. get my drift.

Its good!

There is a equivalent place off Roswell road, called Carro de boi (sp?) (in the same parking lot of the DMV by Starship) for cheaper..

But I've been to Brazil and nothing beats REAL Brazilian churrascaria.. For example, Porcăo in Rio de Janeiro right off Copacabana beach... I would do anything for that right now..

Been once. I was very impressed with the food, and I thought it was well worth the $50. I'm usually disappointed when I go to a sit down restaurant because the food is usually sub-par. I've eaten better meals from McDonalds, than most sit down restaurants around here.

Definitely go there on an empty stomach, and get your moneys worth. You won't be disappointed. I don't go more often because I don't have $150 for dinner (after a tip) every time I want something good. I wish I did though!

Same, but its the REAL thing.. Plus the Brazilian women around you, beach not far.. ---> better.

There is another one I went to.. Supposedly the best in Rio/Brazil but I can't think of the name..

The food here is really good, I've been a few times but never to any other similar restaurant to compare. I always eat so much I get sick but its so worth it.

They have a very very nice pot roast that is a 'secret menu' sort of item. They'll only bring it out if you request it. Its better than any other meat they had up there.

The salads they have are also incredible but I made that mistake the first time and went around trying everything on the salad bar and couldnt eat much red meat.
