Well after about 3 weeks of haveing the motor sit in my garage and going place to place and getting parts im finally ready to do my swap. which is im chunking my d15b7 out of my 94 ej coupe and droping in a b18c1 that i got off of 95_GSR. i didnt have to much money to throw into it at the time but what i am doing while it is out is replacing the stock cam gears with some skunk2 pros, also i picked up an OEM crank pully with only a alt. drive on it so no AC/PS im also going to replace the timeing belt, water pump, and thermostat. something im also doing with my weekend is i picked up a brand new set of skunk2 struts for 250 (good deal :) ) that im gonna throw on to help keep this soon to be beast on the road. I start tomorrow whenever i get home from work and should have it in saturday the only thing im worried about is wiring the V-Tech so if anyone knows a really good instruction guide to it let me know thanks!:goodjob: :D :bump:

Adjustable cam gears are really only needed if you have aftermarket cams because you need to zero/degree them. Or if you've had a lot shaved off the head/block. Or if you're turbo and need to reduce overlap with big cams.

For the VTEC wiring, just do some google searches. Go search Honda-tech. This (http://hondaswap.com/general-tech-articles/how-wire-vtec-40811/)may help you.

Good luck!

So you bought skunk2 "cam gears" running on stock cams? Or do you mean skunk2 pro "cams"?

Hope you meant cams. I don't think the cam gears will help with anything other than aftermarket camshafts.

he can advance the timing with the cam gears or retard it so it does help some...... as for your vtec it only two wires that run to your ecu

Honda put the stock cams where they need to be from the factory. I assume he will be running a stock ecu with stock tune and stock cams, so the stock cam settings would be optimum. Wouldn't you think?

I could only see this being an advantage if he is going turbo, but this was posted in the all motor forum.

I could only see this being an advantage if he is going turbo, but this was posted in the all motor forum.I adjusted both my stock Type-R intake and exhaust cams with ST Corsa cam gears (rare & baller!) for more mid range power & torque since I have a longer ratio GS-R transmission.

A stock GS-R with a GS-R transmission is hardly a beast! Throw a B16 transmission on it with cam's, valve train, header, and intake manifold then that's would be a "beast" compared to the average Honda.

^ I assume you tested it on a dyno while adjusting the cam gears?

^ I assume you tested it on a dyno while adjusting the cam gears? No not at all, simply adjust the timing accordingly afterward. If I remember correctly I retarded the intake cam 4° and advanced the exhaust cam 4°. I'm still not positive if I have the first or 2nd generation ITR intake cam though, considering I bought the B18c5 new in 2004 it should have the '00-01 243 duration that's the same as the CTR.
