So I'll probably just go with a mild build with a good bore. I want around 270-300+ hp. So after it's finished.. before it goes back in the car. I'll get the JRSC.

If you let a car sit for a little while.. can I cancel the insurance without giving back my tag? I think I might transfer it over to the truck and let the other tag go back. I plan on parking the civic for a couple months. :ninja:

you can bolt STI or wrx stuff right onto the forester basically. WRX stuff is a 2.5in drop or STI is a 3.5in drop on stock springs :)

I'll check into that block guard. I believe I'm going down the turbo road. Seems a lot easier. I was looking into all motor at first, but after a good bit of research (and people laughing at the numbers I want). :lmfao: I'm going the turbo way. Be cheaper and probably a lot more safe.

I'll check into that block guard. I believe I'm going down the turbo road. Seems a lot easier. I was looking into all motor at first, but after a good bit of research (and people laughing at the numbers I want). :lmfao: I'm going the turbo way. Be cheaper and probably a lot more safe.

a C5, huh? those run somewhat high compression stock. you will need to chance the pistons out for sure. i would still recommend going with rods, pistons and cams with a good tune. block guard, as always, just to be on the safe side. i would try eagle rods, JE piston heads with ARP head studs, with a compression around 10:1 at the highest. and maybe some skunk2 pro1 or pro2 cams. only get the pro3's if you very serious about high numbers, which in this case, you wouldn't need them. then boost with a t3/t4 turbo kit. get a tune, and you will be very close to the range of what you are looking for.

you can have 400+hp and still get traction with the right tires. but i wouldn't over do it though. 300hp will be plenty enough to keep most people from messing with you, and running a 400+hp car as a DD will cause a lot of problems. i know a guy who did it and it fucked his tune all up. at the car's prime, it was layin down about 450hp. hitting 13's at the track.

edit. i say you will be looking to spend around $3000 or more. just to turbo the car is going to be about $2000. but thats all if you did it yourself. minus the tune.

rods will run about $300 brand new.
piston heads will run about $4-500 new
pro2's are about $650 new

you should be able to find all this stuff for cheaper used. just make sure its all still in good condition. i'm sure most of it could be found in the for sale section on here.

take off with 400hp on a DD is easy. just like any other car, as long as you stay out of it, it won't be a problem. 400hp would be the peak potential of the car, and if you don't lay into it, you wouldn't be using all the power there.
depending on the budget for the build, depends on what the car can do. if you want to completely build the motor, don't hold out on cheap parts. cheap shit brakes. get good name brand stuff that is good for the street. know what kind of times you are looking to hit in the 1/4 and then determine what kind of hp would be needed to achieve it.

fuck yeah.. replaced the PS pump in my truck today. Took me 4 hours to just get the god damn pulley off and back on the new one!! WHY wouldn't the new pumps NOT come with a new fucking pulley pressed on them?! Took me an hour to find someone with a pulley puller.. and after a trip to napa to get bolts that can handle human torque I finally got the damn pulley off and I had to spend an hour trying to find someone with a fucking PS pump pulley press kit.
I can't wait until my tool box is full of tools like these. This was a 30 min job tops. I bet I spent a total of 20 mins working under the truck. The rest was locating tools and breaking the shitty tools and having to replace parts. lol
How does someone make a tool kit and it not have atleast a Grade 8 bolt?! :2up:

Any mustang can run 10's its a matter of how much spray is used. I just go by trap speeds now not times. I prob can trap in the 125mph range now with meth. easy low 11's on slicks tho
