i have a 1992 civic dx sedan. what would be some of the easiest (as close to drop in as possible) swaps for an eg civic like mine but are good strong motors that have good potential for NA or boosting? (take your pick i would go either way). and also around how much would it cost from the time i give my car up till the time i can drive it away? its not like i have the money now, but i just wanna see how much this stuff costs and would like some help. reccommended shops would be appreciated. thanks to those that can help :)

is your car an auto or manual?

if its an auto its going to cost you a little more for pedals, clutch master, slave, lines, and the time to install.

if its a manual your choices are endless. for something cheep go with a zc or d16z6 swap. mid range go for ls. if you want to come out of pocket shoot for gsr, type r, h22, k20.

You could spend anywhere from $800 to $8000 it all depends on what you want. i suggest using google to find out what you after. you left a lot open and not a lot of info.

skip ovre all d series swaps. b h or k series. on average with labor and parts for a b or h series swap your looking at $3000ish. k series is just to much money for the end result.

so you are saying that somewhere around 3k i could drive off in my gsr civic? i thought just the engine and parts would be more than that, and i assumed labor would be crazy $$. but 3k seems like something i could actually ave up for, i paid 2350 for the car.
