fuel gauge?

i'm sure i'm not the only person who has run outta gas while driving, unfortunately it happened to me for the first time earlier this week. lol

now, after i filled up, the fuel needle only seemed to go up while i was driving and it took it a long time to reach full.

it's fine now, but can anybody tell me why it does that? jw

its typical..my teg always does it. some cars it will shoot to full, some it will take a while couldn't tell ya y. its when it doesn't go up or down at all that you need to worry

My Mustang had this a problem. If I left the key in the ignition it would take 30min of driving time to reach full. But if I had the key out, it would shoot up to the Full mark. Now I was running 2 Ford Cobra Fuel pumps instead of the OE single pump.

Could be your fuel sensor for the gauge.

most hondas are like that. i personally think its the beginning signs of a failing rheostat. but ive seen it go on for years.

only problem you should worry about, is if the gas hand doesn't go down.
if it doesn't go down, then you will end up out of gas in the middle of no where like i was once.
i had a teg and gas had was messed up, and the owner didn't tell me when i bought the car. sucks finding out the hard way.
