Go to school, work your ass off and make it happen. That's what I did. I never aspired to be what I am now but it certainly works out just fine for me.

I didn't graduate from college with any specific goal (as in the perfect job, I really just wanted to be secure and happy), I just found what worked for me and went for it. But I'll tell you one thing, you have to work for it. You have to always do more than the person next to you, always stand out. I was the ONLY person in the entire finance division of my company (worldwide) to get a raise this year and I intend on working my ass off to make it happen again next year and the year after that.

Salary.. .well.. it pays the bills ;)

734. ER personnel seem to be driving far lately. they send the closest one available, so im assuming its because a lot of people are getting sick/vacation, or there just arent as many ER employees as there used to be. im assuming the latter.

You'll probably want to go for your bachelors. May even want to go for CPA. It's a hell of a lot of time and work but it's pretty much a guaranteed job for the rest of your life. Work in public for a couple of years, it's awful but I think it's the best experience you can get.

Hmm my job(s)... and they say you can't find work in this economy.

First. I do storm damage claims for a roofing/siding company. Its commission based. When its good, its really good, when its bad... it sucks.

Variable pay depending on how hard I work. I will say I should NOT make the kind of money I do being this young.

Second. I am the expo at a local Marietta restaurant. I was planning on leaving but I might stay and cook for like 12 an hour just for extra cash. It pays the bills?

Third. I do sales and marketing for a landscaping company based in actworth. We do a lot of the rich golf type neighborhoods. I get percent off every job, its easy money if you know how to sell. I am the only sales rep for them, so I get all the commission.

Money wise, its picking up. I just started doing it so I am not so sure yet. However, I do have a good feeling that Ill be making bank soon off of it.

Did I mention I go to school full time too? :D

The reason I work so much? I want to save up enough cash early to invest and buy a few small businesses over time and get into real estate development. The cash from the small businesses will keep the bills paid while I wait work on my real estate stuff and retire off that at a young age. I am moving to FL in about a year to start getting my name out down there. I have a decent rep up here with most businesses, any of my previous employers will give me full back in anything I ask.

I am a full time nanny for one Dr and then part time/fill in for other Dr's.......

My full time I LOVE....she cooks dinner every night and leaves me left overs for the next day or she brings me home food and is sooo sweet! The baby girl I love like my own!!

As far as the other part time/pickup I do.....they are iffy...dont get to see the kids too terribly much so its weird. And they dont cook for me. LOL Food is the KEY to my heart! Buwahaha!

I get 10/hr under the table and then most of the time they bump it up like say its 90, or 95, then make it 100 or something. Not the best pay, but hey....I get free food, get to spend my time with sweetest baby, get to live it up in mansions, and it is very easy to get off whenever! =) Cant complain! Especially since I live at home still and dont have too many bills to worry about!

Would not trade it for ANY public job for where I am in life right now.....full time in school plus an online class. I stay busy! Cant wait to graduate with my associates in december then go off to a 4yr! Then who knows what I am going to do for a job. =-/ Guess I will worry about it when the time comes. I am a firm believer in things happen for a reason. I did not find this job, it kinda found me!

I am a full time 15-18hrs a semester student and I work part time for a family owned restaurant chain and for an event management company. I also work lots of odd jobs (pressure washings, car part sales, car details). The event management company normally pays more then I typically earn in two weeks at the restaurant in one weekend when it's race season (April - August ) only a few weekends a year because I was the 4th one hired and the last one needed out of 3 of my friends who got me the position.

I plan on doing something different this summer because i'm already tired of serving tables where I do and I would like to get a new experience in (Valet parked for a year, worked in concierge for 6 months, worked in the Kitchen and waited tables for a year) before I graduate. If that fails i'll find a new restaurant to work at that's different.

Money is good for me that's why I have the hobbies I have and get to spend what I choose to spend but I am blessed and I do live for free at my young age as long as I am a full time student.

yea like me.. I have my associates and two bachelors (1 in accounting and 1 in Management) but you can always get your feet wet early.. like i started working in Accounting since senior year of High school

Currently i'm studying for my CPA exams.. it's ALOT of material and takes ALOT of time.. working full time and trying to study for the CPA is really stressing me

my starting base salary pay was $24k per year
my starting commission goal is $12k per year

last year I made $65k, got a 5% raise in hourly to $12.85

this month my gross pay should be about $7200 before taxes, but they tax the hell out of commissions!

not bad for a full time college student who just got married. By this time next year, I'm hoping to get probably a good 20-30% down on a house

Last Year I worked form "home," averaged 10-20 hours per week and brought home a salary that a lot of people would want. I hope to do the same this year but i think i'll have to work more.

What exactly were you doing as a Tech for Bellsouth/AT&T Tony? Likes/dislikes?

Just basically installation, repair. DSL, POTS (Plain Old Telephone Service) and UVerse. I work in a different department now conditioning lines for these services and nothing more, its not a bad job but a lot of BS to deal with.. I much rather prefer the military.

I like the pay, but theres very little room for growth in my position.. its a union job and they like to keep their union workers where they are.

I also get a nice paid vacation every year from Dec. 23rd to Jan 4th, most other holidays off, and I accrue about 3 weeks of sick/vacation days on top of that. Semi-decent benefits including 401k, life insurance, etc.

i guess i should change my major to engineering if i want to work for lockheed lol

You should see that place the week before the UGA/GT game. It seems like every engineer is a GT grad and all the mechs are UGA fans. It really is funny sometimes.

You will find that the better the job, the less you actually work.

Tis very true, I'm experiencing that right now. Its been confusing but I like it. I sit here, do nothing and make great money for my age (albeit being uneducated) I intend to get back in school AGAIN and finish, now that I'm an independent student finally.

Salaried senior graphic designer at a large corporation. 45K a year, I also do freelance graphic design at home charging no less than $90/hr. I can take home between 50-80K a year depending on how much I want to work. My "significant other" is a web site designer for a different very large corporation. She brings home anywhere between 60K and 90K a year as she gets paid overtime along with her salary at time and 1/2.

Daytrade and manage multiple portfolios for various individuals. I make 20% commission either monthly or quarterly plus whatever I personally make (obviously)

So that = a lot of $$$$$$$$

However, you would never know it lol. I used to spend money like it was going out of style, now I have a hard time parting with $1 for 2 apple pies. However, I couldn't be happier. Work from home, for myself, by myself....no boss (other than the wife) and if I feel like sleeping in, taking a day/week/2 weeks off, I do.
