It's not a shoe string, The shift-boot is after-market (aka advanced auto) or something in that nature. It holds the top together lol

Better than no shift boot, clean black suede one is on its way

Mmmm... True RHD is the best (usdm did not come with that A/C control) correct me if I'm wrong!!

I wish there wasn't any glare on the faceplates. You have a shift pattern on the console. Nice...even though, your hand is on the shifter you will never have to remove it, to see where you need to shift the stick. :D :D :D
