I bought this car last summer while my Mexi was in the body shop getting some work done. I decided I liked the car and retired the Mexi and now drive the Fasty Daily. Furthest trip so far was to Bradenton, FL back in November... kinda sucked without heat! Maybe I will get around to fixing that this Summer! There are no major mods done to the car. At some point in it's life a PO put a wing on the rear trunk (yes it has two, one in front and one in back), but I never saw it. Some guy in Atlanta drove it for years, he's believed to be the original owner... I bought it from a friend of mine.

It's been converted to dual carbs (should have been FI) and it has some bigger tires front and rear (the rear are so large they rubbed when I put them on) on 15" Gurney's. I actually had a guy go through the effort of telling me that my "tire is rubbing on the frame" yesterday at a red light... normally i get flagged down to find out what type of car it is. It had a raked look, but the new suspension took it back to pretty much stock. I added the visor on, it's from Australia. The black hood was added on the week of our trip to FL... the Yellow hood was rusted and a friend busted it when we were in Helen, GA in September and I wasn't rocking a bungee cord all the way to FL. It was too hard to match the yellow, so black it was! I also added the bumpers back on it. Soon I will be converting the rear to disc brakes.

I didn't like the paint at first... especially when I had to go black on the hood... but if I had a standard single color fastback... you might just think it was blah... i am upset the bandaid that the PO put on the dent on the door fell off in a rainstorm... though i am not in to sticking bandaids on it myself so unless he redoes it for me it will go on bandaid-less!

And thanks :)

Car is awsome, I agree with everyone on the paint.

Paint suggestion, Black and white 2 tone, Red like a dark red with some rims, or the organe of that 74 karrmann giha that on here

UGH on two tone. So ugly seeing a car like that.

On that car, VWGirl, a single color would not be bland. Unless you chose a dark color. Stick with light colors. I probably wouldn't do yellow as it seems most classic VWs are painted that color. Maybe a white or some sort of lighter shade of green. Later, QD.

oh... car was originally red... so there is some of that where there are paint chips and quite a bit you can see through the spray can cover up of the interior paint

I really don't plan on painting it... I am working on my Thing and then my Westy

well... of the 30 VW's I have owned... this is the ONLY yellow one ever... well I have a bus that is kind of yellow... but still... it's really not that common of a color... Orange is really common, and blue, and red... yellow you don't really see too much... especially on a fastback. I already have a white car, so that's out... if i did anything I would take it back to red, but my rabbit and ex-rabbit vert are both red and both my vanagon carats are red... see my dilemma? i could start a thread on all my cars if you want a break down of all this stuff lol. Each car has it's own thing and personality... This car... She's a bitch... but we get along pretty good these days

maybe a light teal color. or the light metallic blue off the EFI super beetles.

The only other fastback in town is this color coincidentally
