I have 10% on my car and in the 4 years I have had it....I got pulled over a few months ago in the middle of the effin day....the tint is fading and is nowhere near what it used to be. Stupid TN State Trooper!

My daily has 14% and even that's a pain sometimes at night. Awesome in the day, but I wouldn't even want to imagine trying to see out my windows with 5% at night.

Be careful with the 5% dude. I had 2% on my Tib until the middle of last month. I received 3 tint tickets in a one month span. It seems that the cops are really cracking down on tint violators lately. A lot more so than they had been. All three of my stops were just for tint and nothing else. They are seriously making it harder on those with illegal tint so be careful. Tint tickets get expensive. :doh:

If you are complaining about tint, then its not legal.. 5% is WAY to dark.. it was on my old suburban and was a PITA at night... I have 25 on my Tahoe, and 30 on my jeep.. not to dark, but keeps the light out. Plus, its not so dark as to have the cops suspect something..

On DJ's case, he does have a stand out car and in Gwinnett they like to ticket imports for dark ass tint. I drove through gwinnett for 5 years going to work n my stand. Only 1 tint ticket. I knew the risks and I accepted it. I dont like people looking into my car and seeing what I have.

dude you are going to hate 5% after a while. i had it on one of my CRX's and it got old having to roll the windows down at night and such. looked good, but got old quick. I have 15% on my STi and it's perfect IMO. I can see at night, it looks plenty dark, and keeps the car cooler in the sun.

Step 1. Use soap and water solution in a spray bottle to adhere tint temporarily to the outside of the car window. This allows you to smooth out the tint and roughly measure and cut the tint using scissors or a knife to the proportions of the window. Have the car window rolled up throughout these steps.
Step2
Spraying soap solution on the tint as you go, slowly use your other hand to peel the backing from the tint. The tint should still be stuck to the outside of the car window as you are removing the backing only. A knife blade may help you lift the corner of the backing from the tint.
Step3
Remove tint from outside of the window and line up against the inside of the car window. Be sure that the top of the window and the top of the tint don't line up too perfectly. This often leads to overlap which causes the tint to bubble and peel over time.
Step4
Smooth out the tint using a small squeegee, making long sweeps across the window one way and not over lapping.
Step5
Wrap a blue power towel, the type used in automotive shops, around a hard piece of card and use to smooth the tint even more. The hard card used to apply spackle is a good size.
Step6
Lift and spray water soap solution under the tint as you go along and use a razor blade to remove any debris you find in the smoothing process.
Step7
Slide tint into position and squeegee bottom edges to remove any remaining water before allowing to dry.
