K guys i need a lil help here. Reps will b given. So i just picked up some JDM 98 spec ITR cams from a buddy of mine. My question is what is needed so that these cams will run smoothly and function without a problem??

Will i need to get some ITR dual valve springs and retainers or will these be able to just be dropped in without having to modify my head???

Ive been told that i can run these on my motor straight up as long as i dont rev the fu.ck out of my motor. But i doubt this advice, that is why i ask you guys to help me out here!!!

Just lmk what parts i need and any recommended brands that i can use so that my motor will run healthy, LAST and still haul ass!!! Thanx PPL!!!:D :goodjob: :D

you would use stock b16 vavle springs but you want re use headbolts??

Most kids that does something like this cant help themself but think they can rev the shit out of them... If his stock valve spring breaks his HEAD Is DONE!

hmm, below are the part numbers for the valve springs - just referenced in the IBP of the 98-GSR and 98 Type R.

GSR inner - 14751-P72-003 blue
outer - 14761-P72-003 blue

TypeR inner - 14751-P72-003 blue
outer - 14761-P72-003 blue

kinda weird how the numbers match. My money says he'll be fine running these cams.

hmm, that's what i get for reading too fast.

regardless, like nomohondas said, as long as he doesn't exceed the stock redline it'll be fine.

but c'mon now, lets be real. if you had a stock b17 and had some JDM ITR cams in it, and knew that it pull hard up till about 9k rpm... wouldnt you be tempted to hit it that far? lols

maybe, except that fuel cut on a b17 is 8200. It's like having an lsvtec with a stock LS bottom end... it's called self control and not exceeding your engines limits.
