Okay, open your document

Click the insert tab

Click header, choose blank, backspace the "type here" thing

Highlight everything you have written there.

Press control+C

Click page number

Choose where you want your page number and click it.

Press control+V

Profit

Also, note from an English major: Unless you're writing a longer research paper, you don't actually need the headers with your last name and the page number. If you're just writing an argumentative essay, a close reading, or something like that, you don't actually need to bother.

yeah i know. i wouldnt normally do it but our teacher asked for it. apparently, although he's philosophy, he's very particular about how its set up. using MLA and what have you. but i figured it out im seriously a complete moran that i didtn figure it out.

I was talking about MLA - if you really wanna be a jackass and it's not a research paper, pull out an MLA handbook and show him that it's not actually required.

It's just fun when you have a professor you don't like. I've taken my manual in before and been like "No, biatch!" and showed them that I was right and they were wrong. It was awesome to hear them do the whole "well ah, uh, uhm, well, um, ah, but, well" thing in front of the whole class.

Oh, you will.

Only it's Chicago/Turabian style.

You think MLA is bad?
