rush's orating skills better than obama??? are you sure??? did you watch the video? 85% of it is covered by loud clapping and cheering...how can you tell???
i'm sure if he was "so great" you'd be able to sit through all ten of his 10min segments without a pause (something YOU did with obama's state of the union address). lol, he's pretty funny though...i like how he brings the whole "racism" argument into his "speech" and blames it on the presidential primaries....maybe after his long addiction to prescription drugs, he's forgotten that HE was the one making statements such as "barrack, the magical negro." seems he also forgot, cnn also hosted his speech...being cracked out on scripts can do those types of things to a man's memory.
to each his own....i suppose. lol, if conservative feel like he's the "new face" of their party....they've got better luck with PALIN...or better yet (in his own words) STALIN.

If you dont think Limbaugh is at elast Obama's equal as an orater the you are blinded by hate for conservatism. We have people comparing Obama to Reagan and I dont think they are even remotely close to being equal oraters. Reagan was far and away the best orater this country has ever seen in politics.
I will comment further after I finish listening.

Like Jimmy said if you dont think they are at least equal you are crazy. I didnt sit all the way through cause I finally found it at 3 AM and had class this morning. Otherwise I definitely would have.

ehhh i saw it ,i like RUSH, but sometimes he goes on a tirade too much IMO. Obama is good at getting you to BELIEVE he cares about YOU. Whether you are republican or democrat.
When RUSH speaks, you know he hates you if you are a liberal.

let's be for real....hell, even vteckidd realizes the man has a strong disdain for liberals....so why is it that i'm blinded by my hate for conservatism??? i'd love to have you and redgt's definition of a "great orator."
i'm pretty sure you two don't totally comprehend the fact that a GOOD orator is one who posesses "eloquence" and is HIGHLY SKILLED at public speaking...not just someone who can bump their gums.
so let's get this straight....i'm just trying to see how "crazy" i am. we have a man who has been standing on the same soapbox, preaching over radio waves (while munching on little blue pills) for....who know however many years....whose public speaking ability finally gave him his biggest live audience, and national news appearance. compared to a man who HAD A SPEAKING JOB at harvard, had little to no executive experience, is "a piece of shit", is "going to be the downfall of this country"...BUT was able to be elected by more than 50% of the united states population, to the highest office in the U.S.A. by ONLY GIVING SPEECHES....and the soapbox, radio preacher is the better orator???? hahahahaha! ok....
anyhow...i still can only force myself to watch the first segment. if conservatives weren't so desperate to find their "chosen one," then i'm pretty sure the entire climate of this thread would follow more along the lines of "limbaugh is a coward, and enemy to the american people." until that day comes, i guess the blind will continue to lead the blind.

Rush isnt a politician so he doesnt have to try to relate to any 1 group or another. He says what he thinks and thats it. Rush does get annoying with some of his tyraids, but at the same time, I think Obama gets annoying with some of his speeches. His tone and diction just seems like he is dumbing it down. Maybe overcompensation for his much stronger vocabulary than most Americans.

Someone that grips an audiance with their delivery, not so much their message.
Personally I cant get past Obama's message and I really cant stand to hear him speak, but I can recognize that he is a very good speaker.
i'm pretty sure you two don't totally comprehend the fact that a GOOD orator is one who posesses "eloquence" and is HIGHLY SKILLED at public speaking...not just someone who can bump their gums.
I do recognize that. Rush adjusts his delivery to fit his audiance. When he is talking to a conservative group, he is dumbing down liberals. When he is on the radio he attacks liberals for their agenda, then attacks conservaties for being spineless against them.

This isnt even a fair comparison. One is a radio talk show host with a highly conservative backing, the other is a politician whose #1 job is getting re-elected. I am positive that if Rush Limbaugh ran for a public office he would do well. Not saying he would win because the MSM would attack him on a regular basis, but he would do well. He has a VERY strong conservative backing, and I honestly think people would trust him to shake up Washington.
Also, you cannot escape the role the media, and general american ignorance played in getting Obama elected. Many people voted for him just to have a democrat in office. Others voted for him becuse he is black. Others liked his message. Many of them had no clue what they were voting for though. All though his campaign he hinted at several things, but never gave a single detail. McCain was not given equal treatment by the press either. Anyone that got their election news from NBC got news that was so obviously baised towards Obama it was embarassing to the enws media as a whole, or at elast it should have been.

Not at all sure where you are going with this. Conservatives have several good canidates, but they would never make it thorugh the current vetting process by the republican party. Conservative and Republican used to mean the same now, now republican means democrat light and conservative is a dirty word.

all this coming from a man who had a serious oxycontin problem, he was probably snorting them like most folks do, and we'll be back for a commercial break, sniff sniff!!!! he was being investigated by the feds for like serious quantity of pain meds, like thousands of them, and then he magically turned himself in to rehab before he was searched and the feds would then find out how many pills he really dealt/brokered/sold. Unfortunately i have to take meds for a neck problem so i can't talk, but i don't seek a buzz from it. most of the people i know that do these things now don't see how i do it. it's called don't snort it and take one at a time and you will be fine. ever since this happened to rush years ago i lost all interest in him b/c what he was doing was very serious and he got in no trouble.

So a man that had an addiction but got himself into rehab and cleaned himself up is forever tained, but the sitting president is addicted to nicotine, and has tried on several occations to quit is not? Rush became addicted when he was being prescribed them. Obama made a conscious decision to partake in an substance he knew was highly addictive, as does anyone else that tries a cig at least 1 time.

wasn't it you who continued to bash obama for "TRYING" illicit drugs??? the difference between being addicted to cigs, and being addicted to scripts is...ONE IS LEGAL, ONE ISN'T. hahaha, why do you think it's ok to become addicted to something just because it's prescribed to you? it's called...SELF-CONTROL. the bottle says take 1, and you make the conscious decision to take 5...
oh, and he went into rehab after being ARRESTED for ILLEGALLY obtaining viagra in the dominican republic. lol, and then the jackass gets on his radio station and brags about it. as stated before...the blind will continue to lead the blind!

I knew Rush was addicted to pain kilelrs at one point but never did any research into anything else. Dont really care. I also dont care about Obama smoking but someone made the point of an addiction. The same can be said of cigs though. Obama has tried to quit but he has proven he doesnt have the self control to do it, at least Rush did have that ability.
As for the blind leading the blind, the same could be said of anyone that still thinks (or ever did think) Obama was the right person for the presidency. Dont bring up McCain either because he was a screwup too. In only 6 weeks Obama has proven to be a complete disaster as president.

yes he did go to rehab, but if i remember correctly he was suspected of buying and selling quantity of OC's, was being looked at by the feds and then turned himself in before they got him for it. thats where i have a problem. he more than likely supported his habit and made tax free money illegaly. i could not get mad for him taking them b/c i am prescribed oxycodone 15mg tablets for a neck injury(4 a day) and you do become dependant on them, but trafficking and sales is another story.

Just got done with the 10 youtube videos and formulated my own opinions.
Getting back on subject, Rush talked about having our rights under assault: Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. He's saying that Obama and his administration is trying to take control over us as an American people and we're complacent in allowing them to do so. Do you think this is true or false? Please Explain your view point.
I think in many ways that it is true. Government giving bailouts to these corps that are falling under or banks, etc. If we are truly a country who embraces capitalism, then people (individuals and businesses alike) will fail now and again, but it's our freedom to try again that allows us to learn and try again to succeed. To me, it seems that we're (as a society) just sitting around waiting for the government to swoop in to help when in fact, we really should be the one's helping ourselves (financially).
I'm unemployed right now and have been for 3 going on 4 months now, got a wife and three kids and anyone who MUST to be the breadwinner or income provider knows the amount of pressure that comes with trying to provide for your family... I know that the only one who is going to be able to help me get out of this mess is myself and my spiritual faith. I'm not expecting government to hand out money or food or help, for me or to me. I think the outlook on government right now is to GIVE everyone life, liberty, and happiness... but the truth of the matter is, its your's for the taking and you don't need government to give it to you...

what rush is saying is correct, but bush, clinton, bush SR, reagan etc have all done the same. bush's patriot act took away a lot of rights, and there has been legislation recently that change how marshall law can be done. the executive branch can deploy NG to any state, whether the state calls them or not. there are also wordings that it can be used for civil unrest, basically anything that threatens them they can declare marshall law. these types of bills have been around since the 80's, like hr84, or 85 and hr645 i believe. i will find the links to the legislation.
