I've done a 302 into a Toyota pickup before. It wasn't too bad, but theres alot of little shit that comes up that you wouldn't really expect. I'm selling the mounts, and transfer case adapter if your interested PM me.

will do man thanks. im not 1oo% sure wat route im goin yet jus sick of this v6 its junk. nobody wants to deal with them. i got iol in my water but no water in my oil (no its coolant jus easier to say water my bad) n i dont work far from home so gas isnt a issue, jus want the truck runnin good and strong since i cant slam it (4x4) i might as well beef her up n enjoy her. lol. idealy the r22 4cyl. would be the way to go but finding a complete running one with no issues cheap is near non existant. so a 35o or even a 3o2 i ca get all day from buddies that already owe me. jus need a lil guidence on gettin it done. a good write up or even a website that walks u thru it would be perfect.... thanks everyone in advance

actually its a 22r.... but is yours a 22re or 22rc (efi or carb) and i have a friend who has done the 350 swap, he says the hardest thing is the wiring... everything else was fairly easy beit you have some sort of knowledge about a yota and a 350 :goodjob:

If you go carb'd 350 you wont have wiring to worry about. You might have to have a custom driveshaft made. < I'm guessing thats a little truck like a s10?

i dont know squat bout this engine, only that its the v6 nodody wants to touch. n yeah its no bigger or smaller than a ext cab s1o . i figured on a custom driveshaft.and its 6lug so figured a 6lug chevy rearend may work, of courst theres always the width issue an thatll all have to be worked out, thats y im looking for a site or write up to break it down so i know wat to start gatherin up instead of buyin and replacin as i come across the issue.

The 8" Toyota rear end is pretty strong. You will need custom front and rear driveshafts, as well as a custom (or modify the stock) tcase crossmember. With the SBC you will have to notch the firewall as the distributor is on the back. Being as yours is a IFS you will need around 4" of suspension lift, or a custom oil pan to clear the IFS differential (With a SBF a dual sump pan and a set of 1" spacers on the motor mounts with clear). Stock manifolds will clear on either, but swap headers make it easier. A body lift makes the entire swap easier. Other than that its basically as straight forward as any engine swap.

hey zach.......u think it be easier to swap in a 350 or do L99 or 305 like they do in S10s?

I've seen plenty of 350's in s10s and the 305 and 350 will be pretty much the same space wise.

pssh, gas mileage is for the hybrids and civics. My camaro got 18-20 mpg with a light foot, with mods.

i get bout 30mpg hwy =] or 400miles to a tank hwy

idk from the OPs post,he seems likes hes looking more for reliable then performace.

but u cant go wroung with a 350,but id say go with a TBI 350:cheers:

lol i jus want reliable performance with a good platform to build off of in the near future. i dont drive far at all to work so gas aint an issue. i got the teggy for long trips. jus figured if ima yank the engine might as well get more bang out of her... unless anyone here has a reliable 4x2 to trade or a lil reliable civic. lol that worx too..

If I were gonna swap I'd want carb. just so I wouldn't have to mess with wiring and a ECU.

If you plan on hitting the rocks in it EFI > Carb, otherwise you should be fine with a carb.

I thought he had a 2JZ....

I believe you would have to start with the trans mounting. If you start with the engine you could set it too high where the trans wont fit.

Put the truck on a lift and mock up the engine with the trans attached to it if you can.
