how do you forget to install rotors when doing a brake job?

it would be like forgetting to put wheels back on the car after getting new tires

EmminoDaGreat
02-24-2009, 02:52 PM
I dont actually believe that they were installed wrong, more of a driver issue, i have seen many rotors like that, or even just the hats and no rotor left.

You'd be surprised about the stuff I see people driving on all the time. It's really unbelievable sometimes. Not only are they risking there life, but your's also at the same time.

i'm going with those rotors needed to be replaced and due to the dropping economy, they didn't replace em and just hooked up the brake pads and made some killer bank off those folks.

Im guessing that they were resurfaced with just millimeters left until it was into the cooling fins. Once they got hot enough and cracked, the face came off.

What's the problem? That's the new slotted rotors, they were at the SEMA show this year...it prevents glazing of the pads.

Seen that many times at a shop I used to work at...usually though, it's the customer that just pad slaps over and over again...till the rotor is gone. That, is not a improperly installed rotor...you can't get everything back together if the rotor is on wrong...even if it's the wrong rotor, it wouldn't wear like that.

The worse I've seen was a 1989 Caddy that was down to the veins...and she DID NOT have the work done cause she didn't have the money. Needless to say, I did the work for her for free...I was not gonna let her drive out with NO brakes, possibly slamming into some innocent soul.

People...really, amazing.
