Well after i finish this semester with GPC, im transfering/going to ITT. I just think its waste of my time to do 2 years of what i dont wana do. So im gona continue my education at ITT around summer time. And my career is Criminal Justice/Detective.

Anyone went through what im going through?

GPC-waste of time
ITT-gets you rite to what you wana do

I dont see how i can go wrong.

4 years will get me into detective.

Any advice?

Here is an idea - get some real facts before making decisions about your career.

Few facts i know about my degree.

Level 1 first step is to be a Police officer
That requires high school diploma and/or some type of a degree.(which i have)
Some form of physical training/boot camp.(which you get once you apply for a job)

ITT offers associate's and bachelor's degrees in criminal justice. They don't offer some BS certificates, they offer degrees.

Lvl 2 is detective

To be a detective, you need to be a police officer for at least 3 years.(which im planning on)

lol at ITT tech.

Its like the joke goes.

Two construction workers are sitting atop a building they are working on, having lunch. One turns to the other and says " I am really proud of my son, he is the first in our family to be accepted into college" The other asks him "Oh yeah, so wheres he going". "Devry" The first one replies. The other worker looks at him with a grin and says "So what did he have to do to get accepted, open the door?"

hahaha, good one. Im not sure what i wana do, I'll have to sit down and think hard about what i really wana do. And the funny thing about your joke is, i am the first one from my family to go to college.

GPC OR ITT GPC OR ITT......

dont go to ITT, its way to overpriced and not a very good education.

If you want to be a detective, GA State has a decent Criminal Justice program. First things first is to become a cop.

so become a cop and go to school part time while you are a patrol officer.

stay away from ITT Tech or Devry unless you wanna go into IT, and even then Devry is 10x better than ITT Tech!!

I think the profiteer has some good avice there. GSU is a cheap school and way better than Devry, ITT and the type that charge you TEN TIMES as much as GSU.

You know what - why dont you just go the local police precinct - and talk to a detective there about how to "become him". I'm sure they'll have plenty of advice especially since they have hindsight on what they did.

here is the best advice anyone can give about becoming a po'po. For the next two years don't do anything STUPID, no speeding tickets, no wreckless driving. NOTHING! Smallest stain on your record and they already begin to think twice, and they see EVERYTHING!

Just to help you out. I degree in Criminal Justice is not needed bro. If I were you Id get a degree in something els so that when you do become a cop and say you find out its not for you, you have something to fall back on. A degree in CJ is over kill most police departments just look to see if you have college. Just pm me you want to know more.

Credits from ITT will not transfer to a real school.
GPC They will.

I don't suggest going to ITT at all, given the recession, and the10% pay cut APD just took, what if you decide to take a different path? You credit for GPC will transfer to GSU, GT, Kennesaw, etc...

Do this, stay enrolled at GPC, tell them you want to be a TRANSIENT student, meaning you stay enrolled at GPC, while attending classes on a different campus/school. They will give you a paper with transient student equivalent courses at the other schools. This way you can go to ITT, Atlanta Tech, GT, wherever and still be enrolled at GPC, just in case you change your mind.

GPC does suck, unless you use it to transfer to GA tech, UGA, or State.. Guaranteed acceptance if you get a 3.0 or above.. Pretty good deal if you fucked up in High School.. I know people that did that and that are better off than me here at UGA since their two first years were easy compared to mine.. My GPA is lower than them and we will have the same degree.. lucky bastards..

GPC is not bad, i think the only reason people dont like it is because its a commuter college and you dont REALLY get the real college vibe. but you should have known that when you came here. its a college thats meant to be small and what not. but its not a bad school. hell its supposed to be one of the best community college's in the state. like he said, all credits transfer to most school unless your going to a tech school and even then you gotta research to make sure that they do.
