Friday night we have a BMW wrenching party and do a bunch of maintenance on the vert and fix an issue on an e30. Friends stay over for the night and in the morning we head out for a mountain cruise and eat some lunch.

Around 4pm we head home and myself(green vert), Jeremy(RED Porsche) and Nick(bronzit e30) all are heading back to my house. Get off exit and I believe Forsyth county makes ALL their ticket revenue off this street. I know not to speed more than 10 over as they are waiting for you. So we are just staying behind a minivan in the left lane ~55.

Pass cop in the middle(of course) and for the most part he was just sitting there... just when we round the corner he flips it and floors it to get behind Nick. We get into turn lane and miss the light, miss the light the 2nd time(not going to run it hah) and finally turn left. Lights on and he only pulls Nick over. We head back to my house(about 2 minutes away).

Get to hear the story from Nick. He was pulled over "For a cracked windshield and a license plate frame is not legal". Gets asked some questions and in an assuming manner asks what they have in the car. I guess the answer wasn't good enough so Nick is asked to get out of the car, empty pockets and he is searched. His passenger Blake is asked to get out of the car. Same deal. Then they ask to search the car. Nick is a good kid and there is nothing in there. There never has been. Then after being there for 20-30 minutes the officers(now there are THREE CARS for two kids in a 1986 325eS with no records) say "We are sorry, you are free to go. Forsyth is having a drug problem".

Bullshit. Profiling two guys with longer hair in an 'old beater e30' and searched on assumptions.

Cliffs:

Friend pulled over for cracked windshield and license plate frame

ive had it happen to me too many times to even care anymore. EVERY time i get pulled over they ask to search. ive said no a few times, and yes. just depends on my mood, but its annoying getting profiled all the time.

I was pulled over after doing a u-turn on a dead end street by the Forsyth Sheriff, got my person and car searched, drilled with questions, passenger questioned separately, two cruisers out there. Fun times. Got to sit on the front of one police car and have a pleasant conversation with one officer while the other went through my car and found zero.

Yup, when I get pulled over they usually search for drugs.. I get pulled over at least once a month.. I NEVER drive with anything in my car, or under the influence of alcohol..

Forsyth Co. is corrupt.

I've been challenged to a race by a county deputy though...on video without his knowledge, lol!

Always refuse to let them search. Be polite but firm. If they step over the legal boundaries, fill a complaint and get a lawyer.

Ok?

I shave my head and I listen to metal music. I guess I should get pulled over anytime there is a violent murder of a minority right?

The cops skipped me, skipped the kid in the red porsche and pulled over and stopped the two guys with shaggy hair. They then searched the car(they were told they could) but why even ask? The car doesn't smell like anything, nothing has ever been smoked in it and they did nothing wrong. They were going for a 'hopefully we find something' and it was bullshit.

"Oops sorry, Forsyth County is having a drug problem". I bet it is. Why don't you go work on solving it?

How's that?For the past 30 years.

I was co-workers with a deputy who put one of the sheriff's son's, both deputy's, in prison years ago after driving up on the scene of him raping a girl he pulled over.

I personally witnessed a uniformed deputy get out of his blazer with a beer can falling out at a gas station. Looks around to see if anyone was watching then threw it behind the front seat.

I was challenged to a race on Hwy. 400 against a deputy with a video camera in hand that did not look like a video camera.

A sergeant was arrested in '07 on 20 counts of child pornography, illegally accessing investigative files on his in-car computer then more were found on his home computer, which was supposedly all a setup...

How about 30 years of corruption?

I was pulled over by GSP one early afternoon then Forsyth Co. rolled up on the scene giving me shit. The Georgia State Patrol officer told him to shut the fuck up or move the fuck on. He left. I admitted I was speeding, in a construction zone at that, had a great excuse that covered my ass and I was let go. I accidentally left my headlights on while all the nonsense was going on and the GSP had to help me jump my car off, lol!

If it's a repeat problem then they should cut their hair...or at least wash and brush it. Why get defensive over officer doing their job? I've been searched more times than you can ever imagine in all sorts of counties, only because I tend to be in the right, or sometimes wrong, place at the wrong time. From my 1st gen Integra to 300zx to 3rd gen Integra but never once got upset over it. As long as they don't try to plant something on me I don't mind one bit, maybe the next person they search does have something.

Their attitude is what makes the difference. While getting into confrontations with officers on the side of the road I've requested to speak to their supervisors...generally they quickly relax and I'm on my way.

I disagree. My friends should not have to cut their hair so they don't get searched on a bullshit traffic stop for a BMW plate frame that is 'illegal'.

Not a repeat problem to this point. They were visiting me and not from 'around these parts'. Hasn't been a problem up to this point. It was two cops hoping they found a jackpot on two kits in a BMW.

Big deal, 15-30 minutes of your day wasted. I would spend longer than that taking random drug tests, I would have to take time from my day to go drive to a doctor to pee in a cup and go back to work...big deal! It's a part of life.

If it happened once a week or once a month then it would be an issue. Should I be all pissy at a company because I was selected for a random drug test? Should I be pissed at a cop because they want to search my car? I don't care because I know I'm not riding dirty, lol.

People raped a girl, went to prison.
Uniformed Deputy had beer can fall out of his car (sounds like a POV, not county car)...still wrong either way and considered an open container if there's anything in it.
I'd like to know more about the racing thing - feel free to PM if you want.
The Sergeant did what he did, was terminated, and is in the prosecution process.

Define "giving you shit".

Still waiting to hear about the corruption.

Sounds like people that have done bad things and have been punished accordingly when caught. Sounds like any other PD or SO in the country and any other job field in the country. You're bound to have a few fools when you're employing hundreds, that doesn't mean there's "corruption".

Find another place where the crime rates decrease while the population goes up.

Like it or not, it IS illegal to cover parts of your tag and drive with a cracked windshield. The got pulled for it. BFD. They didn't find anything, and your buddy was let go. shut up and stop whining, it wasn't even you.

Find another place where the crime rates decrease while the population goes up.I'm not saying it's any more than any other department but I certainly hear & seen more about Forsyth than any other county and I've never even lived there. An ex-gf works for Hall County now, lol.

Obviously by corruption I didn't imply it was anything like New Orleans or Key West in the 80's. Hell, both Hall and White Co. sheriffs were running drugs in the 80's. Bales being dropped in Lake Lanier and picked up by boat...all stories from someone there.

As for giving me shit, I didn't realize a county officer had the authority to question someone that was pulled over by GSP...as he starts questioning the legality of my $1,500 coil-overs as "altered suspension" and I wasn't even lowered more than 2". How about my Falken Azenis being street legal or not. Petty BS when a state patrol officer caught me speeding with laser in a construction zone and attempting to do his own job.

I have more respect for officers than probably anyone you'll meet, online or on the side of the road. I however do no tolerate being harassed or lied to. I've busted two officers lying in court before. One, after being put to desk duty went on to being an investigator. Every time I see a detective I think about him and hope he changed and treats his duties in a moral way unlike how he treated me.

I've had a few officers try the intimidation approach by driving 1/2 a car length from my rear bumper to get me to do something wrong. I brake checked the crap out of one doing that. I'm talking it was late afternoon and he was two feet in, smoke boiling, nose dive, elbows locked on the steering wheel...all seen in my rear view mirror. If only I had a rear facing in-car camera for that one. The very first road we came to he pulled off. I'd like to see him explain his video to his supervisor if he rear ended me.

One time I had a car door closed on me after attempting to get out after being told I had a tag light out when I knew I didn't. This was on a side road at 8pm with no more than 1 or 2 cars per hour at any given time, he wasn't closing it for my safety. I said it must be mud or exhaust/oil on the bulb...I said I'll clean it off, no big deal, then he literally slammed the door as I opened it. Then continued to say I was weaving and there was a problem with people drinking and driving. I told him that's all he had to say to begin with, I don't mind doing a road side sobriety test one bit. The more people they test the more are caught...fine with me.

I moved from the small town drama with officers fishing like that: Dahlonega, Oakwood, Cleveland, Cumming (visiting friends), etc...even Suwanee yet I always show respect until I get wrongly accused or disrespected.

I only been searched once.. In TN.. I was pissed and lucky...

Story...

Paul, JaimeCbr, atif and all of our better 1/2s went to Gatlinburg for a few days..

On the way back.. we were all driving normal NO SPEEDING OR NOTHING..

I was driving my old TT.. I was with my Ex Gf.... we get pulled over by Tn cops for NO REASON..

2 cops - one comes to the windows and ask for my license and reg.. i handed over to him.. He starts asking my all the typical questions.. where we were going... where were we and yada yada..
He see's my gun.. He ask me if I had a permit.. I said, yes... He then ask me to hand him the gun.. another officer pulls up....

He goes to his car and chatting with the other to cops... he comes back to my window.. tell me and my ex to step out.. I said.. great..

Is cold as fuck.. My Jacket is in the car.. they start searching my car.. without even asking me.. One cop comes and ask me if Im cold.. I said.. hell yeah.. he hands me my jacket...

They are done searching my car.. Me and my ex are like WTF.... so they tell us.. have a good evening and we can go..

Now the lucky part...

While at the cabins.. I ask one of the people who I will not say any names.. lol if he had any ciggs.. he said.. I have some clove's.. I said.. cool.. He said, you can have them.. I said even better..

I smoke a couple, put the rest in the my jacket.. the same jacket the officer handed me...

When I get home.. I had one more clove left.. .. when I went to pull it out a small empty bag of weed came out.. I was like OH HELL NO!!!!!!
even though it was empty, it had some seeds and some residue left..

I was like Im going to KILL * Cough Cough *

The cop never looked in the jacket...

lol...
