i am looking at a 2002 civic lx that needs a short block. it has a 1.7 and looking at it it looks just like a regular d series in a ek just with out a dizzy. my question is will a regular d series short block out of a ek interchange with it?

From what i know it wont fit, i think the heads are totally different as well as the deck height.
From what i have heard of course.

What are you trying to accomplish?
Here's the deal - the oilways don't line up. Check out a side-by-side comarison of a D17 and a D16 block.

I'm not saying that you can't mate a D16 head with a D17 block (and I'd think it would be cool) but I'd be interested in how it's done just like everyone else.
